There are fewer opportunities to find gaps in the market or exploit broad misunderstanding of what makes a team go, but this is the kind of area that still feels like an opportunity and solid organizational value add. There's a lot of improvement to be had from building a state of the art organization top to bottom, paying scouts more, etc etc that every club with money should be taking advantage of. It doesn't impact the cap and can be a shot of electricity through the whole system. Good organizational habits to develop and keep (no matter who is running the show).

I'd love for the Red Sox to take advantage of the local academic community more. Get MIT to do advanced analysis of pitching and hitting mechanics to see if there are optimums to model. Have Mass General and Beth Israel, etc. assess pitcher arm strength and flexibility to maximize pitcher health. I know the Sox already do some of this. Are they leverag the local scientific and academic community?

This is cool. We are a Driveline remote training family and they are pretty awesome. All of my pitchers love watching that silly Bauer youtube channel, so we use Driveline as a point of reference all the time. They really, really love focusing in on the basics which I appreciate. It's so easy to sell snake oil to people who o not know any better.

I just hope this doesn’t lead to the Sox signing Trevor Bauer.

Could write many words on “why Boston” but TLDR: Alignment with many people in org I already know (Willard, Bailey, Ochart, Besky, Heil, and critically Breslow) Specific areas I feel my skillset can help quickly Can’t do FTE position at this stage of my life, Red Sox made it work - Special Advisor / Special Assistant role is the right role for me now Turned down Director / AGM roles over last few months for above reasons. Again could write a lot more on it and I might in the future, but the above covers 80% of it.
