Got it. I actually Shaq deserved it in 2005, but same idea.Basically that Kobe deserved the MVPs that Nash won in 2005 and 2006.
"Hey! I didn't say 'better', I said 'different' "The rich are different from you and me. So maybe?
Yup. It’s also incredible revisionist history. Kobe in the post-Shaq pre-Gasol stretch from 2005-2007 was an absolute chucker who literally quit on his team to prove a point on how valuable he was.Got it. I actually Shaq deserved it in 2005, but same idea.
Nothing is more serious than Ballsack Sports. It’s a Tweet from Ballsack Sports. It’s not serious.
edit: love the Joe Morgan reference, tho. What did that mean, again?
LinkJoe Morgan’s best known saying when he was the Red Sox manager was “6-2 and even.” Pressed for his meaning when he used it with reporters, Joe laughs. “I was just trying to baffle them the way they were always trying to baffle me. You have to remember. I grew up around here!”
Strange that Kyrie of all people would think of this as MVP worthy.Kobe in the post-Shaq pre-Gasol stretch from 2005-2007 was an absolute chucker who literally quit on his team to prove a point on how valuable he was.
Meh. They probably aren't going anywhere without Kyrie as currently constructed They probably aren't going anywhere with Kyrie either, but there's always the small chance he falls in line and finally accepts his Robin role. I mean, he's already been on teams with LeBron, KD and Harden so chances are against it but some people wise up with age. On paper though, a Kyrie/KD/Simmons core should work well. Of course, who knows when Simmons will even play again.I'm sure the Nets fan(s) is/are thrilled
He is saying Nash didn't deserve to win them. Kobe did.I'm assuming asking to see Kobe's MVP trophies is a dig but I'm not sure the exact reference?
Almost 20 years later, and yet the Lakers propaganda persists. He is saying Nash didn't deserve to win them. Kobe did.
He is saying Nash didn't deserve to win them. Kobe did.
What is this world of media coming to if we can’t trust the word of Ballsack Sports?!Except it’s a fake quote. Kyrie didn’t actually say that and the whole “irreparable” report is made up.
Their coverage of shaving scandals has been really in depth. What is this world of media coming to if we can’t trust the word of Ballsack Sports?!
There were a few wrinkles, but I thought it was pretty surface-level.Their coverage of shaving scandals has been really in depth.
Some of their stories are just nuts. There were a few wrinkles, but I thought it was pretty surface-level.
The fact that it was BallSackSports reporting that BallSackSports told this to Windhorst (wut?) was a humorous twist.Except it’s a fake quote. Kyrie didn’t actually say that and the whole “irreparable” report is made up.

I think that’s a response to the news that - apparently- one of the reasons the Nets contract extension never happened is that Kyrie wanted a guarantee that he wouldn’t have to play more than 60 games a season..lol
Yes, and no back-to-backs.I think that’s a response to the news that - apparently- one of the reasons the Nets contract extension never happened is that Kyrie wanted a guarantee that he wouldn’t have to play more than 60 games a season..lol

You have to wonder if the unpredictability with the ball in his hands is part and parcel with the unpredictability when he opens his mouth.I so do wish Kyrie wasn't such a headcase. He is my favorite player to watch with the basketball in his hands.
He needs the time off to burnish his credentials as the next Bill Russell.I think that’s a response to the news that - apparently- one of the reasons the Nets contract extension never happened is that Kyrie wanted a guarantee that he wouldn’t have to play more than 60 games a season..lol

Kyrie and “learning moment” just don’t go together.Steph: jokes on a podcast that the moon landing might be fake news; gets scolded by his BFF Obama; makes UnderArmour design custom sneakers featuring craters and the US flag with profits supporting STEM programs in schools. And still brings it up five years later (most recently in a great Rolling Stone profile) as a learning moment for him about the importance of wise speech.
Kyrie: hold my beer.
Yeah I posted the screenshot in the general Celtics thread, was gross to see.Anyone see Jaylen retweet Kyrie’s above tweet then delete it? I know he goes to prestigious schools and nods inquisitively when smart people talk, and he even quoted Foucault once (!) but he’s a fucking idiot.
Beyond the obvious hyperbole in that tweet, what's with the "enforced Vaccine/Pandemic"?Horford’s younger brother lol.

I took that to mean the lockdowns and quarantines but I may giving Kyrie too much credit.Beyond the obvious hyperbole in that tweet, what's with the "enforced Vaccine/Pandemic"?
It was a lot more fun when it seemed like Jaylen couldn’t stand Kyrie.Yeah I posted the screenshot in the general Celtics thread, was gross to see.
NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving says he turned down a four-year extension prior to the 2021-22 season because of his decision not to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
"I gave up four years, 100-and-something million deciding to be unvaccinated and that was the decision," Irving said during Nets media day on Monday. "[Get this] contract, get vaccinated or be unvaccinated and there's a level of uncertainty of your future, whether you're going to be in this league, whether you're going to be on this team, so I had to deal with that real-life circumstance of losing my job for this decision."
Don't sell yourself short, Kyrie. You also probably lost yourself a ton of Nike money too. $100M is the low end!
Meh. Not to defend Kyrie, but leaving everything else behind, I'd definitely look better at someone who just refused the vaccine as opposed to someone who lied about it (and got another person to commit fraud to get them through it).The dumb thing about it is that I'm sure Kyrie could have found someone to not administer the vaccine... if you get what I'm saying. I'm sure there are a ton of high profile athletes who did that.
Hell I bet the team doctor would have been willing. Kyrie just wants to be an attention whore.
