That video is hilarious to me. Can't wait for the next match at Anfield and the reception Klopp is going to get. I'm over the moon about this.

I was obviously wrong about Klopp going to a non-Champions League club.

It will be great to watch his system on a regular basis, and good for LFC fans.

Just so I'm clear here...you are saying that there are NOT four teams in the EPL with significantly more money to spend on player transfers and wages than Liverpool? Because that's what I'm saying. And I'm then saying that they need to try different strategies because going head-on in spending won't work.

If I'm misunderstanding you, I want to know.

First press conference out of the way - I don't know what effect he'll have on the players but he made me want to get my kit on, get out there & run all day (and I'm 54).

There's a new phrase that the press are going to use to describe him but I don't want to see him labelled with it so I'm not going to repeat it -  you'll hear it soon enough.

A mightily impressive start.

Are you saying you had your kit off for the press conference?

The guy who made that Klopp video needs to churn them out regularly.  He could be the biggest thing since Special1TV.
He´s a comedian (did those impressions of Beckenbauer, van Gaal, other Klopp videos in german, other non-sports celebs), Matze Knop. Yes, that´s his name :)

Terrible news for Joe Gomez, ACL injury set to rule him out for rest of season. Had initially thought it would not be serious. #LFC

Upside is Flanagan should be back in December

That sucks. Regardless of whether he or Moreno would be playing, it would have been good to have him training with Klopp and learning his system.

Loved his short time on the pitch. No Benteke or Ings for his first game in charge... Sure aren't making it easy for Klopp.

Rumors are that Klopp won't start Sturridge until he's 100% fit. Origi lone striker, Daniel on the bench.

That makes sense.  If he's going to have them press everywhere he can't start anyone who is still not fully up for all the running.  The injury bug this week has been awful although I guess the good news is that Benteke and Firmino should both be back, hopefully, by next Sunday though seeing as how he is working Sturridge in that probably means the bench.

Sturridge not even on the bench after picking up knee injury in training...

Confirmed team for Spurs: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Lucas, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Origi
Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Allen, Ibe, Sinclair, Teixeira, Randall

The final is 0-0 in white hart lane. LFC ran farther than any team in the league so far this year, and they looked great pressing initially. Origi should have scored in the 10th, hitting the crossbar on a header. He needed to be better at holding up the ball though. I thought Lallana actually looked pretty good in Klopp's system, he wasn't taking 8 touches every time he had the ball like we're used to seeing. Sakho had a hell of a game, Mignolet with a great save and Can played very well.

On the other hand, Milner was... not very good again. And while the team as a whole pressed effectively at times and got possession in transition, they were pretty wasteful with the ball.

OK, the next guy I'm officially over is Martin Skrtel. His positional sense is terrible. Clyne being left isolated in an aerial duel with the opponent's sole striker yesterday was just the latest example. He also uses the last-ditch tackle as a regular defending tactic as opposed to a last resort. He's gotten by on being strong in the air and making the critical play more often than not, but he's the common denominator in the defensive lapses of the past few years.

Sakho needs a defense-first, last, and always partner with a high footballing IQ to maximize his value (Sakho has a high IQ himself IMO, but needs to be freed to move forward and trust his ass is covered). Skrtel isn't that guy. He's the power guy in a stay-home partnership. LFC hasn't worked that way since Carragher retired, and they aren't going back. So Skrtel's got to go.

Liverpool have played 28 minutes with a lead. I'm not sure what to do with myself.

The question is: what would Tokyo Sexwale do?

I think the answer is obvious.

Being still alive in a competition that Man United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all out of is a good thing.

Away to Southampton in the quarters.

Considering it was EPL opposition and that the lineup consisted of the following, I was really pleased with the effort and the result:

Bogdan, Randall, Touré (krtel), Lovren, Clyne, Brannagan (Lucas), Allen, Teixeira, Firmino (Lallana), Ibe, Origi

I thought Firmino was MotM, with Ibe a close second. Bogdan was very solid as well, made some great saves to preserve the clean sheet and acquitted himself well with the ball at his feet.

Randall, Brannagan, and Teixeira were all understandably green and a bit inconsistent but I think Teixeira can definitely help the squad as the season progresses

City at the Etihad in a couple of weeks will finish the suicidal early run of away games. Still a ton of work to do but they've stayed close enough to the top 4 that there's still hope.
