This:
The Revis deal was a 2 year deal with a poison pill second year that the Pats had no choice but to walk away from. Both parties went in knowing that the second year was not going to happen, but strucuring it as a 2 year deal allowed the Pats to limit the cap hit in year 1 (at the cost of some dead money in year 2). A consequence of this is that Revis went FA without the Pats getting a comp pick.

It seems very likely that this is what the deal will be between the Pats and Brown.

I’m really enjoying the “Please let this be the end of the ‘Patriot Way’”-type commentary.

The Patriot Way is winning, period, and this guy is the single most talented receiver in the NFL.

Remember the times that Patriots wanted out of New England and go to Oakland?

Belichick has dealt with more challenging players than AB. LT was drinking heavy and smoking crack during the season. He was a great teammate but still, Belichick has been dealing with challenging players for 35 years.

Tom Byrne on Maddog sports. Raiders gave up a 3rd and a 5th for AB to play for the Patriots. Haha

One caller was driving and said he had to pull over and throw up.

Giants are gonna suck this year. Pulling hard for the Pats.

I mean, if he somehow causes the Pats to go 9-7 and miss the playoffs, today was still worth it.
Yeah honestly this is where I’m at. We’ve won 6 already. I just wanna laugh at everyone now one way or another.

This season is vindication for the Scottish game and I refuse to believe otherwise. Fuck everyone.

During his time in N.E., he's also had the (hot) dog whisperer at QB.

Of course it was orchestrated. When AB found out, looking at his phone, he didn't look surprised or disappointed. He shouted ecstatically and ran outside like a joyful little kid. He wanted to be released. He was hoping to be released. When it happened he was overjoyed.

But tampering is down to a science in the NFL and with agents. Rosenhaus probably had some ridiculously oblique conversation with Belichick months ago that set this up. A conversation, not emails or text and with words that don't clearly mean anything about AB.
This reaction only requires that he truly desired to be released in that very moment, and that's not difficult to imagine considering he was fined and his guaranteed money taken away.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the whole ordeal - from helmet to wiretapping - was premeditated to get him to NE.

More insane than the people watching at the Hampton beach seafood festival, this news is.

around the way
See ladies and gents, after 6 rings I almost don't care about how AB works out.

I'm just giddy about the avalanche of sweet, sweet, Patriots content that's about to be turned up to 11.
Yep the cup has long since runneth over. Best part of this is embracing the hate. Not returning the hate, but enjoying it. This signing is like 2007's "fuck you touchdowns" when up 45-3 in the fourth quarter.

Here
Other than Yankees, Celtics, and Canadians, yes.
Factoring in era, given there were like 8 teams and no free agency. Plus the NFL is a one-and-done playoff setup.

I’ll be the first to say this is more impressive than Auerbach.

Holy shit Chiefs fans suck. They know they can’t criticize the Pats without being huge hypocrites wrt Tyreek. So they defend him by saying it was bad journalism and his baby mama extorting him. Incredible the mental gymnastics people are willing to do just to hate the Pats. I love it

A Lost Time
The way I see it, the benign -and likeliest- version is that this is a guy who has some serious mental issues. If this is the case, it's hard to see how the Pats curtail the sort of behavior he's displayed over the past couple of months.

The malign version is that he orchestrated all of this to get out of his contract. This seems far-fetched to me, but if that's the case, that dude - great receiver or not- is a Grade A asshole. No one deserves to be treated like that.

We ll see.
