Just an FYI, there's talk of lopping off some of the members who are stupid, don't listen or read, and/or whiny.
If you've posted in this thread, there's a good chance you're being discussed. :behave

I mean, just as one example among many, you guys don't really think that recent post shit is going to be permanent, do you? With Nip in charge? The guy who has always maintained that the first line of defense against shitty posting is a clean interface with small sigs and avatars? Jesus Christ...
Yeah man, but quoted posts are in fucking italics. Let me repeat fucking italics. That shit HAS to stop and needs to be done urgently. So before you fix that recent posts shit, please for the love of god get rid of those italics.

Late to the party, but I also can't see Other crap. I don't post a ton so I'm not sure if I could before. I would also be happy to hand over some more $$ whenever possible

There used to be a link at the end of each thread that would bring you immediately to the first unread message in the next topic in the same forum. Although it was never quite clear to me how "next"-ness was determined, this was a feature I used quite often, as it made it easier to plow through forums that I typically read exhaustively. Does that capability still exist? If so, I can't find it.

Many thanks to Nip and Sumner for all the great work.

Yeah that was hideous. Probably need a little more styling to contrast them a bit somehow that doesn't make our eyes bleed, but italics are gone.

low on the fix it list, but it seems like when creating a poll you are now only allowed one question

Throwing this out there for others to comment on. I'm not sure this is even feasible.

When looking at a list of threads, the avatar next to the thread title is of the thread starter. To me, the more important information is the latest poster, which is on the right side of the screen. Would it be better to switch the avatar locations since the more important info is on the left?

It wouldn't make sense without totally revamping a ton of stuff (e.g. the last post name and username is on the right, with the last poster's avatar, and the thread starter's name is on the left by their avatar).

Yeah, I assumed all that would move with the avatars. Not looking to create a lot of work for something no one else sees value in.

I'm testing a possible compromise on avatar size: User info area should now be collapsed (hiding avatars, etc), hit "+" to see info. If you don't want it collapsed, go to Preferences and uncheck "Collapse user information in posts". Unfortunately there's no way to have it unchecked by default as far as I can figure. That seems ideal.

Were you paid up? Unpaid members used to have read (but not post) rights in Other Crap, but that's no longer the case.
Is this temporary or permanent? I have cleared cachookies but still can't view Other Crap.

Not that I'm long-winded or anything, but it looks like posts are limited to 10,000 characters (I discovered this when posting my weekly "NCAA Football 2015: Week X Discussion" OP that includes the week's TV schedule. Don't know if this might come into play on other types of posts, say, tables with a significant number of columns/rows.

Great catch. FIXED.

And to folks without access please keep on posting here. I will not be fixing them right away but they WILL get fixed.

And as far as subs go, the solution will be the least-worst system. It was 100% impossible to fix the subs so there will likely be some juggling that we need to do. We're doing literally everything in our power to make this something workable.

One other item...it used to be that we had to use Phrenile's table-izer to post tables. I see Sumner posted a thread on posting YouTube videos. Is any special treatment needed for tables in the new environment? I tried posting one as a test...without success.

Thanks Nip. Doin' a great job!

Edit: NM. I now see the "Posting Data" thread.

One other thing to note, not urgent at all, but from the home forums page, clicking on the link to the right side of the page to go to a thread, it seems to randomly decide to bring you to either the last post in the thread or the last unread post. Is there a way to make this consistently bring you to the last unread post? Haven't been able to determine a pattern here yet.

Reverted collapsing the user info for now. Figuring out if there's a better way to do this (ie default to non-collapsed).

Let me know if you figure out a pattern. AFAIK it's supposed to bring you to the last unread, but if you can figure out the circumstances under which it's flaking out then we can try to bug-hunt.

So far it's happening on BBTL, The Media forum, RMPS and Root of All Evil as far as bringing me to the last post. Trying to find one where it's actually working and bringing me to the last unread post.

I've been trying to figure this out too. What I've noticed is that if you click on the links on the right side of the main page, it takes you to the last post. If you go into a forum and click on the blue dot next to the thread title, it takes you to the last unread. I tested it on a few forums and that seems to be what's happening in all of them.

Ahh, yes, the right side links from the forum overview are to the last post. The actual links to the threads inside the forum are to the most recent post.

yeah me too, I just saw that. so leaving it how it is right?

Having the oens I read disappear used to always piss me too, since I always would want to bounce back into the thread before long anyhow. I tend to focus on only a few threads at a time.

God rid of NEW icon on homepage unread forums. Cleared up some text on the sidebar. Changes title bar to white on blue with a border rather than white on light great with no border.

The app isn't working on my Nexus. I tried to reload, but came up the same. The message is that the forum (the Red Sox Forum, e.g.) is unable to load. The site is toad-hoppin' fast on my computer, and I can use the website on my Nexus, so this is far from tragic. Just passing it along. . . .
