Thanks, the new site is great. I am one of the unpaid, read-only "Other Crap" members who is going through withdrawal. Once you figure out a way for members to pay again, I'll be on-board.

Until then, I think I'll use my imagination to create mock "Leftovers Season 2" and "The Classiest, Most Luxurious Presidential Campaign" threads.

Already posted that I can't see Other Crap, but didn't mention that I am willing to pay and didn't before as I don't do Paypal. If I could write a check or something would be great! Love this site and am always bragging to my husband about it!

gave the subforums on home page a slight grey background since there was WAY too much white. Corresponding text changes in the works

It's a light red on my browser. No likey.
Light red? Between this and the starbucks thing, I think we know what's going on.

"You get an avatar!" "And you get an avatar!" Giving away free stuff? Caring about the community?

AlNipper49 is a communist.

what browser are you using? I'm literally using the rgb code for grey so i'm pretty sure it isn't me being color blind

On the old board, I bookmarked the "new posts" link as my primary entry point to the board and it would always take me to the most recent posts across the entire board. On the new board, the "new" and "recent" post links are tied to some sort of counter (either post # or time, I can't tell which), so when I set that as a bookmark, it just takes me back to the most recent posts at the time I created the bookmark. I think I solved that problem for now by editing the bookmark to use an arbitrarily large number in place of the counter. Is there a generic new post link I've missed that will always pull up the most recent posts?

Nip- Do you know how I can edit threads? I must be missing something obvious, as allowing the editing of thread titles seems like something that is standard for all message boards no?

That outage that we had right now was all me. I kicked off a sync job so that we could test parts of the db in non-production and didn't check to see if it Effed anything up before heading out for lunch.

From the forum page, over to the right of the title is an edit button (just to the left of Replies: and Views). Depending on your privs and whether you started the thread, that allows you to edit the title and maybe hide/close/sticky the topic.

My mobile homepage button now says xenForo instead of SoSH (non-app user on iOS.) I read through the thread and didn't see this, apologies if I'm repeating....

Ahh, yes, the right side links from the forum overview are to the last post. The actual links to the threads inside the forum are to the most recent post.
Back to this non-urgent issue for a moment, is there a way to add go to last post buttons or something to the forum overview like there was before?

Replace the number with "0". E.g.:
http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?find-new/0/posts

I used to click on a thread and it would take me to the first post I hadn't read yet. Now, I click on a thread and it takes me to the most recent post.

If you click into a forum and click on a thread, it should take you to the first unread post. If you're in the list of forums and click on the "Most recent post" thread title at the right, it'll take you to the most recent post.

There is currently no way to get to the first unread post from the list of forums, only from the list of threads.

Ok thanks, Sumner. Great job with everything. It's looking very good.

I meant last unread, not last post by the way, but you answered both.

Hate to keep repeating the "Other Crap" chorus, but I'm in the same boat... I've never paid, only lurked. I will happily pay any amount of money so I can get caught up on what Terrisus has been up to.

Yeah, add me to the list of reluctantly-posting previously unsubscribed members really missing out on Other Crap. I didn't realize how many there were. Willing to pay etc; I see the "support SOSH" tab but seems to still be a work in progress. Many thanks to all in charge.

ETA: The only confusing thing about the upgrade so far for me is the icon with the little levers that appears on the nav bar once you scroll down a page. Seems like it should lead to some sort of settings page but it appears to be grouped with the home icon and goes to the home page when clicked on.

Yes. I was a deadbeat who looked at other crap and never contributed. I'm happy to pay as I miss P & G and Omar is Dead. Please advise where and how.

Oh, I figured out how to do an avatar for the first time, too. So I have that going for me now.

Another guy here who didn't pay up and now shut off from other crap. Longtime member but just don't post much anymore. Thanks.

My last message got quintuple posted and eaten alive. I think the site's rebuking me for being a longtime, freeloading, no-good, bad news such-and-such. Take my money as soon as possible and give it Harrison!

(I'm in it solely for the charity, the avatar and re-access to the soothing hum of V&N)

EDIT--Thanks, Nip. You all are doing yeoman's work. And I've always considered myself a constipated baseball.

I was jealous that you were handing out free avatars to everyone else so I gave myself one. And thanks for the help and your hard work on the site. I love hanging out here, even if I don't pipe up much.
Dude, can I get a house this year?
