Poor Terry Collins. Per WFAN, Mets manager basically isnt allowed by front office to make out his own lineup. That's rough.

This sounds like hyperbole. It would be pretty egregious if the FO was handing Collins a lineup every day, but it sounds more likely to me that the FO said "This guy plays on opening day" or "We would really prefer you to sit this guy against lefties." I don't know Terry Collins and his tendencies, but I believe it was Jimy Williams who chafed at having the front office present him with data on matchups and splits. Maybe Williams didn't say it explicitly, but iirc there was a theme in the media that "the computer [or the nerds, whatever] is writing the linups."
