Look like his real estate agent just let slip that he was hired at ESPN

WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Football great Peyton Manning could be heading to Connecticut.

It’s all the buzz around town after reports that he was spotted house hunting in West Hartford.

Eyewitness News first heard about a Peyton Manning sighting from a caller into radio partner Country 92.5. The call was from a realtor named Erin, who claimed the recently-retired NFL star was in town looking for homes.

“I'm a real estate agent. I happen to know that Peyton Manning is coming to West Hartford because he looked at two of my listings in West Hartford last week with his realtor,” Erin said on Broadway’s Electric Barnyard.

“So, Peyton Manning was in the area though last week you're saying and he was looking at listings,” the radio host on Country 92.5 asked.

Erin replied “Yep, his agent called me and said we need to look at these properties and I had to meet them at one because it was an accompanied showing and he said he got a job at ESPN.”

Manning announced his retirement last week, and there’s been some talk that he might join one of the networks, potentially ESPN, as an analyst next season.

There has been no word about a Manning hire, but if he does end up at ESPN, West Hartford would be a logical choice to live, as many ESPN hosts already live there.

Let's see:
UConn hires Mike Tranghese as a special consultant to help them with conference realignment
Tranghese hired as special assistant to SEC commissioner to help improve conference's basketball
Peyton Manning house hunting in west Hartford
1+1+1= Uconn to the SEC!

Or, manning thinks living n CT will help perception of quality of Papa John's pizza.

West Hartford? I guess....maybe. West Hartford is a nice place. Though lots tend to be small even for larger homes. A guy like Manning, if he's looking for a house, can get a lot more privacy in a place like Farmington or Avon if he's looking to stay in the area.

Though many of ESPN's season specific talking heads fly in on a Friday and home on a Monday during football season. The guys who live here are usually full time "talent". Though I guess Manning is in a different class of wealth than a guy like Ditka and can more easily afford another home where he lives 3 nights a week for 4 months.

And given Manning's media presence, a house in Fairfield County may make more sense. I think Mike Greenberg lives in Greenwich or Darien or some place where they hate whiffle ball fields.

Didn't Tyson/50 cent's old house just sell like two weeks ago? Peyton missed the boat on that one.

He needs to be in West Hartford so that random kids from the neighborhood can come into his garage and line up to beat him at ping-pong.

Wait, what? Tell me more - this seems like a light-hearted travesty I can get needlessly worked up about. As whiffle ball goes, so does society's greatness.
I'm right with you (minus the misspelling). Some of my fondest prepubescent memories involve whiffle ball and the leagues we would create and keep everyone's stats. It was awesome.

I'm sure it's not the reason he signed a deal with ESPN, but...it's really smart to go to ESPN. You thought you heard crickets about Manning's sexual assault BEFORE he was an ESPN employee?

Yes, ESPN has a lot of experience in covering sexual harassment by its employees. It's one of the job perks.

Man... I think you're right. Short of Florio crying out in the wilderness occasionally on SNF, if FrankenManning is now a WWL employee, this story will be spiked.

Imagine a network panel with Manning, Ray Lewis, Chris Berman, and Cris Carter. That's about as odious a panel as you can get...
