The GQ article about him was great.

Buys a stick, can't drive stick.

There are some great nuggets in that GQ article...

Mike Hargrove (Manny's manager, Cleveland Indians, 1993–99): The only constant that Manny had was he always went and got José Mesa's chartreuse long johns every day.

Great article that I had never read before. So much great stuff in there. Found this kind of interesting too...
Sometimes he would just stand at the plate, hold his bat, never move, take three pitches, and go sit down, like he was in some kind of a trance or something.

God I miss him so much.

"You know how the players, after they hit a home run, they cross home plate and point to the stands? He was doing that. So one day we asked him: "Manny, who are you pointing at?" "Nobody." "You have nobody here? Then why are you pointing?" He goes, "Well, everybody else does it."

Well, I think we all remember the infamous PH appearance against the Yankees....

Only disappointed that it took nearly an hour and a half for that post.  You are correct, but he took an epic amount of flak despite that fact....

i loved watching Manny play baseball.
I sure hope the writers vote him into the HOF despite the PED busts.

Should be a  memorable speech.

So one was clearly a ball and the other two were painted in an area he couldn't really do anything with anyway. I never saw that at bat, and I'd say that pitchFx takes a bit of the sting out of it.

That said, apparently Boesch throws Manny under the bus with ARod on 60 DNC Minutes tomorrow, so I think the HOF becomes even less likely. I wonder if he'll get in the RS HOF despite the unfortunate incident w/ the traveling secretary, how it ended here, plus the cheating.
