NU started with a 10-0 run. Now tied at 18-18 with Walker at the line. 9 minutes left in the first.

They just need to stay even/close at the half given how tired W&M should be in the 2nd half.  Eatherton has played poor which will change.  W&M will eventually hit a few shots though.

Middle of the period they started getting a bit turnover prone. Came back strong though. Up 36-26 at the half. Quincy Ford has 15 points for NU. Nerves starting to kick in.

This was always Ford's potential.  Great to see him putting up a game like this.  I expect him to have a monster senior year.

NU deserves to win this game.  Let's hope they don't fade for the next 5-10 min like the Janning year teams were prone to do...

And it's going infinitely better than the Joel Smith-Jon Lee team of 2 years ago.

Same here. Glad he's finally hitting his stride after back surgery last year.

Right on cue... the classic NU big game drought and Coen takes out their best two players while momentum slips away.  Groundhogs day.

They really need to get a basket and a stop to reverse this momentum.

The 11-21 Furman squad is hanging in there with #1 seed Wofford in the SoCo final. Down 2 with 13 to play.

Well, poop.

As a fan of a bubble team that wanted a W&M win to hopefully keep them in the Top 100 this isn't good.

Furman and Wofford are tied with 6 minutes left.

Furman's current RPI is 297.

Lowest ever in tourney is 287.  Furman's would probably move about that with a win however, with 21 losses it would be the most ever in the NCAAs.

So is Northeastern.  Up 10 with 7 seconds to go.  So cool for those kids, and a great job by Coen to turn that program around.  Fantastic stuff.

It was only 3 points with 28 second left...not that miraculous.

And now it's 1 point.

Hey, those kids are excited that in 2 weeks everyone will be watching Wofford play Louisville, and they'll throw a "Where is Wofford?" graphic on the screen with stats like enrollment, location, and most famous grads (Fisher DeBerry, Wendi Nix, and Jerry Richardson) and all those kids will go "WOOOOO, THAT'S MY SCHOOL!!!!"

So pumped right now. This has been a long time coming for Northeastern.

exactly my thoughts, very excited!  Not just for these players, but all the alumni who have been dissapointed for years.  This will be huge for getting the campus involved in NU sports, alumni connection, recruiting for athletics, etc etc.  Huge.

If they can play like they did for the first 36 minutes, they may have a shot at pulling a game out.  Will be interesting to see what seed they are, but 2 weeks straight of people talking about NU sports can only be good for the future.

They'll be sitting around 88 in RPI, so I'd imagine somewhere in the 13 to 15 range depending on how things break. Lunardi had W&M with a 15 seed.

Couldn't agree more. We've been talking about the potential domino affect an NCAA trip could have for years... and we'll finally get to see it play out. My only regret is it's spring break this week so there's not too many people around besides the co-ops.

Indeed.  Not to mention that Furman has played out of their minds for the last couple of weeks.  They already beat the 2 seed and the 3 seed (i.e. the other two good teams) in the SoCon tournament.  Wofford played them in the last game of the regular season and won by 2.  Somehow, Furman suddenly became a good team.

Also, Furman is Wofford's biggest rival.  Any win against your rival is a big one.

Actually, the fun part for Wofford comes in a month when high school seniors decide where they're going to college.  Every time Wofford makes the tournament, enrollment numbers go up.

BYU's Kyle Collinsworth ends Monday with his 6th triple double of the season.  NCAA record book only goes back to mid 80s for most of the stats needed for a triple double, but his 6th this season tie the most anyone else has had in their CAREER in that span.  Michael Anderson (Drexel, 1985-88) and Shaq also had 6.  And the kid tore his ACL in the WCC tournament a year ago, what a story!

This BC-GT game is coming down to a fantastic finish. BC was down 6 with just over 1:30 left, and now they're up 1 with :38 left.

EDIT - They trade buckets and BC again leads by a point with 10.6 left.

EDIT - The Eagles hang on, 66-65 pending officials' review of the final play where the ball went out of bounds as time expired. Even if there's fractional time on the clock, it's BC ball.

EDIT - It's a final. The big plays: a Tech foul on a three attempt (BC hit all 3 from the line) and a steal at the other end where Hanlan broke free for an uncontested lay-in. BC played clutch perimeter D in the closing seconds.

Nice to see Hanlan playing like a leader.  He had a tough stretch in the middle of the game but really played a nice all around game.

I think the BC/UNC game could be a little interesting.  Depends on whether Batten's defense can slow down UNCs backcourt at all.

Tech grabs the lead with 10 secs left. Wake gets 3 shots in final 6 seconds but no dice.

Hokies win. Napkin celebrates.

ACC refs living up to their reputation as being completely awful by blowing an out of bounds overturn despite clear evidence it went out off Wake.

Like William & Mary last night, St. Francis of Brooklyn has a chance to end its never-been-to-the-NCAAs streak. The Terriers are up 29-28 on Robert Morris in the NEC final in the final 1:30 of the first half.

EDIT - A deep three puts them up by 4. What a great atmosphere at tiny Lynch Gym, which looks like pretty much anywhere a decent high school team would be playing.

EDIT - Great backdoor cut sets up a slam and it's 35-29 Terriers at the half.

That's tied with Sacramento State's Colberg Court for 4th-smallest among the 351 NCAA Men's Division I venues. The only smaller ones:

818 -- SC-Upstate (G.B. Hodge Center)
881 -- Charleston Southern (CSU Field House)
1000 -- Houston Baptist (Sharp Gym)

I think Morris wins this. They have the pedigree of winning before and winning on the road in the NEC finals.

Oooff. Huge three by RMU coming out of the time out -- and now another one puts the Colonials up 57-47. It's a 16-3 run.

6:21 left.

Here come the Terriers. Two threes and an RMU turnover, and they have the ball down 5 with 3:51 left.

Fouled on the 3!!

Edit: and he misses the first. Oops.

And he missed the 2nd.

Then missed the rim on the third so couldn't even miss correctly.

Damn that's a massive choke.

And the baseball shot at the buzzer hits the back of the rim. Wow.

I was pulling like hell for SFB.
