Marchand will travel with the team on the road trip. He skated today, but didn't practice. He says he never felt any symptoms but they went through the protocol anyway due to the head contact.

Related to Marchand (and others):

It didn’t take long for the Boston Bruins trade speculation to begin.
From CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty:
According to separate hockey sources, there has been some level of recent trade discussion about veterans Zdeno Charaand Brad Marchand with other teams around the league, just to name a few B’s players. The talks haven’t been substantial but more exploratory in nature, as the team quietly gauges the market value of higher-priced veterans who may not fit in the long-term picture if the decision is made to tear down the current roster.
Chara, 38, is signed through 2017-18 for a cap hit of almost $7 million. Given his age, if the Bruins aren’t going to be contenders for the next few years, it may make sense to try and trade him.
Marchand, 27, is signed though 2016-17 for a cap hit of $4.5 million. He’ll be approaching 30 when his contract is up, and probably won’t be cheap to re-sign as an unrestricted free agent.
Of course, all this trade speculation assumes the Bruins don’t turn things around. It’s possible Chara will return to the lineup this afternoon at home versus Tampa Bay. If not, he’ll be back soon.
Marchand is out with a concussion, his return date unknown.

I take all that with a grain of salt, given the source.

But I do think it makes a ton of sense to trade Chara this year if they're not contending. He'd be very appealing to a small market, contending team given that his actual money owed is 2.5m/year less than his cap hit next year and the year after.

If they trade Marchand they better get a haul. He's signed for this year and next at a very under-market deal

Yup. Haggerty was on T&R today and backtracked like crazy because Bob Beers said on last night's broadcast that he heard the exact opposite and they were not being shopped at all. Haggs said that he brought it up because it might be a possibility that they are shopped if the Bruins are out of the playoff race in a few months and it might be a good idea to get some assets and dump contracts. Of course he wrote his article after the first 3 games. He knew exactly what he was doing. Throwing shit against the wall hoping to get clicks. He's so awful
