Last 29 games: 28.5 minutes, 12.6 points, 5.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 2.1 TO on .462/.318/.735 shooting. Averaging 1.5 3PA a game.

Really curious to see how he develops and what his ceiling actually is. Glad he's turned into an actual NBA player though. Not even close to being the biggest bust anymore.

So Fultz goes for 6/5/4 on against the Celtics, while the Boston "bounty" in that trade is a no show. Fultz was a team leading -14. He was 3-10 shooting, missed four of the six shots he took at the rim, and the only non layup he made was from nine feet.

Over the season, he's at 28% outside of 10 feet. 56% inside of 10 feet, including 63% at the rim, with only 30% of his makes inside of 10 feet assisted. Fultz can get his own offense by dribble driving, and I guess that's what they see in him in Orlando.

Markelle is now an actual NBA player but what is his ceiling? Still can’t or won’t run around screens. Fultz’s defense is token, which fits in well with his Orlando teammates. His offense peaks when he dribbles and creates for teammates, which is what Brett Brown hoped he would do in Philly. But the shooting release remains slow. The only improvement I see is in his health.

He looks like a very solid bench combo guard who will occasionally go off but ultimately can't be trusted because of his complete lack of an outside shot. He can look threatening on D with his quickness and length (he altered a few drives last night), but he gets lost easily which, (as noted above) is pretty much par for the course in Orlando. Things can change in a hurry (his FT% is up to 75% this year, after hovering just about 50% in Philly) but that's what he looks like right now. I suppose the real positive is that he's at least trying to shoot 3s, averaging almost 2 attempts per game.

Some of you, like me, may have wondered what happened at Fultz’ pre-draft Celtics workout.

On Zach Lowe’s podcast this week his guest Yaron Weitzman quoted Fultz’ trainer saying about the Celtics workout “He struggled because there was no music, the gym was quiet, and there a bunch of old white guys staring at him and he got nervous.”

So, yeah, that’s maybe a bad sign....

There’s discussion of this in the Sixers thread, along with some references to other pretty damning excerpts from the book that I found. Yeah, it’s a whole lotta yikes.

I mean every right thinking person knew that Tatum was better than Covington. Even the people arguing for Covington knew it. ;)
