There was a comment in the second half before the red card that Spurs had 3 touches in the Palace box and the last was in the 14th minute. Palace had dominated possession and looked far livelier. I highly disagree that the game was determined by the red- it was coming for Palace regardless.
Very well could have been a palace 1-0. Probably would have said that about wolves too, but Spurs took it 1-0.

palace had the ball but Spurs were never really threatened — there were half chances — prior to the red card. No red and I’d take even money that the game ends 0-0. Spurs defense and shape was solid even after losing their top CB a couple minutes in.

all that isn’t to say Spurs got screwed or something. It was a deserved red. They were then down to a left back playing centered back (who gives up the penalty and then the game gets away). Palace deserved the 3-0 overall.

my point is without the red this isn’t some 3-0 drubbing.Spurs D is solid and that game ends 1-0 either way.

Who wants to watch a counter attack leading to a goal when you can watch Ronaldo jump and spin again?

were the Peacock issues on the app? I tend to use Peacock through my browser as my 2nd screen and don't have any issues (although it is crap to navigate on an old X1 box)

also a reminder that our UK friends can't watch CR7 until much later tonight

Issues were on the each of the Apple TV app, Roku TV app, web browser, and through the Xfinity cable box. Not sure if it matters, but we get the ad supported Peacock Premium tier for free through our Xfinity subscription, in case that was somehow part of the issue.

Newcastle was playing quite well to get that game 1-1 and then United just put them to the sword with three beautiful goals.

City were really dominant against Leicester. Many players have struggled to adapt as a winger for Pep but Grealish has really been a seamless insertion. I posted a lot of words last fall about Sterling and Mahrez not being the best combo for City and while City did outlast everyone in the league the difficulty against a low block was really exposed by Chelsea. I don’t think everything is solved but Grealish and Jesus as a RW have been more dynamic and both Mahrez and Sterling find themselves fighting for a place at the moment. The kind of good competition that can drive players on for a bit but something to keep an eye on as I doubt either player tolerates that situation for long. Nonetheless it has been great to watch City so far with a lot of dominance and graft with Bernardo flying around in midfield and Jesus pressing a lot himself. Not a revolution by any means but really solid Pep football

From his spot deep on the Chelsea bench, Toss Barkley casts a longing gaze at the Villa dugout, where he could be on the bench instead

Villa are losing but have looked very good. Chelsea could just as easily be down here. Mendy has made a few good saves
Rough first game for Saul, he's given the ball up a few times in dangerous position. Other than the goal, Villa looking in control.

Just your classic 1.37 xG vs 1.37 xG that finishes 3-0 lol.

If Lukaku really can be this lethal then Chelsea are going to be a real handful. Villa probably carried 60% of that match but Chelsea had an army in thebox as they always do and always did just enough to keep the goals out. Chelsea were not anywhere near their best but somehow always looked comfortable

Sorry I just woke up from my Ronaldo-induced orgasm nap.

I've never seen a team defend as low as Newcastle did today. That was something.

I glanced at the stats late in the first half and the possession stats were something like 77-23%. Figured I could picture how that one was going.

I sprang for the 4K package and there is absolutely nothing like footy in 4K. It’s like the high def transition all over again.

I think that was for the long stretch trip. In any case, careless challenge by Fabinho.

Oh, shit…. Ugly injury for Elliott.

Leeds player red carded for the challenge.

Klopp is livid.

Happened so quickly. Guessing ankle.

Damn, Elliot was playing so well. You could see him holding his leg up with the able out to the side. Similar to the Dak Prescott injury last year. Sucks for him so bad.

Yeah, before play had stopped Salah was screaming for the medical staff to get out there.
And then Mo walked away and hurried his face in his shirt. You can tell how bad it is by every player’s shocked reactions.

VVD giving Pascal a Pat on the back. It wasn’t intentional, but goddamn.
