Cold morning, fire’s going, daughter woke me up at 0520, and my son’s soccer game was canceled. Time to curl up and not move for a few hours (other than fist pumps).

I believe that's Arsenal's fourth goal off corners this year, which is one more than all of last season.

Rams dale just made an all time great save on a free kick from just outside the box

Impressive how Arsenal have turned it around, they were awful at the start.
Leicester are not so much, biggest disappointment so far?

Bigger than Spurs or United?
yeah, I thought of Utd, but I think they still have the horses to turn it around. Spurs, I didn’t expect much to begin with. As we’ve said here, after the two studs there’s not that much, the Kane off-season stuff has left a bad feeling all around, snd Nuno is maybe not all that snd a bag of chips.

on Paper and last years form, put them both in generic kits and call them Team A and Team B, i would take Leicester’s XI over Spurs. Midfield and defense have far underperformed.

If it’s not red, it’s definitely a second yellow. He should be off after the earlier love tap to Ramsdale.

Kieta back in, too. Milner replaced on the bench by Tyler Morton.

Going to watch the first 30 minutes of Union-Bayern, then going over to City-Palace, and then back to the replay of Union-Bayern (ESPN will get their replay up faster). Going to be tough with Max Kruse out, though.

Please, a friendly request for anyone who may be watching the Union game (unlikely), to not mention or spoiler any info about it.

Very interesting nugget from the start of the Union game: apparently manager Urs Fischer picks the lineups with the players involved in the discussion of who is needed from week to week.

Super tough penalty called against Jaeckel (technically right call, but hard shot a point blank range), and Lewandoski converts :(

Jaeckel keeps being the guy who costs Union everything.

Ugh. Switching over to City-Palace. Union is down by 2 after a really nice free kick from just outside the box.

Oh but the Captain opens the proceedings!
Great diagonal ball from VVD to Salah. Salah is in such form that the defenders don’t get right into him. Simple pass to Henderson.

I really hope to see Palace not retreat into their shell and continue to put pressure on City. Doubtful one goal wins this game.

That man Mane!

That was way to simple. Ox had all afternoon to jog up and pick his cross.

Although Palace are often sitting deep the pressing is very impressive. They aren’t letting Citys players have time on the ball to pick passes and are really stifling play. It’s a hard thing to do for 90 minutes but they look very committed

This is pretty much what they have been doing since the second half of the second game. But they seem to always have a defensive lapse or two per game, and always at a costly time. They could conceivably have at least 15 points instead of nine, but for these lapses.

Their defending on corners has been brutal. Makes me pine (just a little) for Tony Pulis lol.
