I assume Southgate is watching this version of Pickford and eagerly looking forward to naming him England’s #1 anyway.

astride the divide
Sanchez made some fine saves but he was pretty feeble on the West Ham goal in the opening moments. It was a grim night for Brighton overall til Maupay scored--some nice periods of play for sure, but more gaffes in front of the goal, and several injuries: Sarmiento, 19-y.o. Ecuadorian making his first PL start, barely made it 10 minutes, and the big defender Webster, who already missed several games with injury, also departed in the first half. Hell, they got the winner with 10 men-- Lallana hobbled off down the tunnel a few minutes earlier and the team was out of subs.

Still just three losses for Brighton; 7 draws in the last 9 overall; and six straight drawn with the Hammers. So'ton at the Amex Saturday a.m.

These last two ‘Pool games have been a joy to watch.
I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Seriously, the Jota finish, and especially Salah's were jaw-dropping. Reds missed a couple of sitters early and could have had two or three by the first goal. There are not many players on the planet right now who would have scored those Salah goals.

Spurs all over Brentford, much better than their start against Leeds.

I think Utd thought they were going to get away with that.

was that a case of Fred doing Fred things, taking his own goalie oot the game?

Beautiful counter that Spurs actually executed perfectly.

Penalties off the ball on set pieces are always tough to give...but you can't get any more obvious than Maguire simply grabbing Tomiyasu's arm with two hands and just yanking him back and down when he was beaten on that free kick.

Spurs finish a neat and tidy 2-0 win and has them sitting in 6th, with a game in hand.

Really surprised by Arsenals approach. City just shredded this United side with positional play and passing but Arsenal have been fairly direct and played a generally end to end match that doesn’t suit them at all

Every time I see your new avatar I chuckle about the high percentage of brilliant people on this board that have no clue what it’s referencing.
