I didn’t know if it was Serie A that was making Lukaku look epic, but i suspected not. After the Euro, I was confident of it. Now I’m convinced. He’s going to be a menace.
Especially if they're going to be allowing more physical play this year, his size is going to play even better.

Yeah he's just so physically imposing. Shrugs defenders off. This is a sloppy track too today and he's still making lots of plays. Brings a much needed quality to this team. So many of them can run into space, he creates it by the acres.

Havertz having a really good game as well.

Chelsea completely shutting down Smith-Rowe and Arsenal have no real options on offense.

I had thoughts about Dzeko leaving City and doing quite well in Serie A and wondering if the league was making Lukaku look better but he’s been very impressive today and providing a great focal point for Chelsea’s attack. There will be harder matches than this but he looks like a great fit for what Chelsea are doing

Anyone doubting Lukaku needs a head check. Last 2-3 years he's been playing at a different level.

Am I the only one who likes how Arsenal have been playing the last 15 minutes or so? Getting the better chances for sure but it feels like they're more in control of events.

Him vs VVD next week should be good.

Auba has Chelsea stretched a bit opening up lanes. They're looking more dangerous for sure.

I'm no concussion spotter for a reason.

That's a heck of a save. Almost the brace.

agreed. But Klopp will set up smarter than this. It’s going to be more like bracket coverage with the DM (Henderson if Fab is still away) and the other CB asked to read the game to snuff out threats. I actually think VVD will get more of that role because his instincts are so good.

I hope Klopp wraps glass Matip in hurricane tape.

I don't think Arsenal were all that horrible against a better team.. especially with the player they have out or not back fit yet...
To not change up Tierney's positioning though was inexcusable...and apparently Lukaku is allowed to shove players over to get to the ball.

Thought Arsenal's player was tripped up in the box.. it may be 'incidental' but the defender was behind the player who was pretty much clear to goal... Why does the defender get the advantage of benefit of the doubt there?

Some good hard fought games today.

The best of the weekend has to Ings bicycle score.

The worst has to be Man U's uniforms. Did they steal them from the corndog place at the mall?

There is an obvious answer both at the club and the national level for misbehavior by supporters... points deduction and bans from competition.

Looks really bad, is really bad, but Ayoze was off balance, he never meant to foul...but it's dangerous as hell.

Shame cos it's been a really good match. Two very evenly matched teams.

Soyuncu with a hockey assist. idk, every time I watch him play, he fails the eye test as a good defender. Always making some blunder leading to a goal.

2-0 to the Irons, reckon that's 3 points in the bag now and the first time Moyes has won his first two games since (i think) 2013/14...

I'm jumping the gun but they ought to hold on from here.

Edit: No wait it's West ham that haven't won their first two games since then.

You mean new Jamaican national team striker Antonio? Yeah, I’m a little worried about that.

Dunno how deep the West Ham squad is but i like their starting 11. Love what Antonio did on that 3rd goal.

Moyes is one of those mamagers where a win takes a year off him and a loss adds two years. He's looking quite fresh faced at the moment.

Outside of keeper and maybe winger it's incredibly shallow. Need a CB, CM and ST badly or it's going to fall apart once injuries and Europa fatigue set in

A really weird career too. Didn't make it to the PL until age 25, then initially at West Ham he played right back.
Not exactly. He started out at WHU as a winger then got moved to RB for 10-15 matches over the end of his first year into his 2nd. Then back to winger and eventually CF

Because everything in football is actually about The Wednesday, I will note that during the 2012 promotion campaign he was a winger/forward who scored a spectacular goal in the promotion clincher v Wycombe.
