Utter disrespect of March. He’s so wide open, Bissaka just daring him to put one on goal.

Glad to see Jahanbakhsh making his way back into the side after his strong Carabao Cup performances. He and Lamptey with some good interplay down the right, hoping he can start a few matches moving forward.

United looked awful wire-to-wire, Rashford's moment of brilliance aside. I'm surprised Maguire's goal wasn't reviewed as he was manhandling Dunk the whole sequence.

Lots of Twitterers saying that the pen shouldn’t have been given? Pretty clear cut pen to me.

They gave one against United last week...same thing. I don't agree with the rule now but its a pen.

Does the final whistle make a difference? The handball occured before the final whistle so I don't think so. The referee isn't NOT going to blow the final whistle just so var can make a decision.

I’m gunning for you, candy.

The Everton training threads and away kits are boss.

Oh I don't think final whistle should make a difference, that's what I'd seen a few tweets saying though. In this new reality of hyper-scrutinized VAR handballs, thought Maupay's was crystal clear

Meanwhile in Germany, I was desperately confused by the Dortmund/Augsburg color commentator’s accent until they mentioned that it’s Steve Cherundelo, who has gotten himself the US/German version of a transatlantic Friedel accent

If I were a team manager I would instruct my players to deliberately kick the ball at the defender's arms anytime they are in the box. Take advantage while stupidity rules the game.

Seeing it explained that Wards arm was further away from his body than when Digne headed it

Not sure what I think about that but seems like it could be a workable standard if applied correctly? (I know)

Also that Richy was in on goal if it doesn’t hit Wards arm, maybe they don’t give it otherwis, like if there was no one in the box and it was just going out for a goal kick theu we oumdnt have? Shouldn’t matter though

So THAT'S who that was. The whole time I was like "This guy is clearly American, but every time he says a German word his pronunciation sounds on point." I thought he was good, though he probably talked a bit too much.

Awfully close to a handball on Calvert-Lewin there. Arm was as close to his body as it can get though, so even though his hand was out front a bit, tough to see what else he could've done

I've been super-impressed with 19-year old Tyrick Mitchell in his three games this season. I'm not sure Patrick Van Aanholt gets that spot back when he's healthy.

Erm... Now Chelsea starting to hack out due to frustration. Three calm, professional goals, by WBA. Chelsea playing like a bunch of individuals.

The funny thing is that Chelsea probably can’t make any tactical adjustments at halftime. What can you change to get three goals when your squad is so attack-heavy to begin with? Methinks that Frank is in over his head.

Edit: Hahaha I guess it's Hudson-Odoi on for Kovacic. You bought the ticket, may as well take the damn ride.

:(

I did add him to my fantasy team to hedge my bets though. So I've got that going for me.
Well, you can console yourself by watching replays of the Brighton-United highlights.

I'm predisposed to like Brighton because I'm a former Amex employee, but Maupay is SUCH a little shit (not so much for the panenka as the demonstrations after it, and a million other things I've seen out of him), and the rest of the team not far behind in general shittiness. Gotta love when bad things happen to bad people!
