Sort of depends on where he was hit, doesn't it?- he was hit in the nuts by a "foul ball", not a "foul tip".....
Meh, semantics. He caught it......in the nutsAs an umpire, I am somewhat irked by seeing all these articles (like the one linked to above) referring to Molina taking a "foul tip" to the groin. If the play had been a "foul tip" then poor Molina would not have ended up in the hospital (since that would mean he caught the ball) - he was hit in the nuts by a "foul ball", not a "foul tip".....
They have that stat dude."Not everybody has the same opportunities in a year," Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin said. "I wish there was a better stat for the percentage of baserunners driven in."
"Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna was charged with one count of assault on a woman in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The Toronto Police Service is withholding details to protect the identity of the alleged victim, said Constable Jenifferjit Sidhu. Osuna, 23, has been released and is scheduled to appear in Old City Hall Court on June 18. Constable Sidhu said police would not release the location or nature of the incident, “not because he’s a baseball player,” but because in all cases of this type, such details might lead to the identity of the woman, which is protected. The incident will undoubtedly be reviewed by Major League Baseball, which can hand down discipline under its domestic violence policy."
So he should get 15 games to start with. Being that’s what was handed out to Steven Wright. Osuna gets the benefit of the doubt at the moment. But not a good look.

So, I take a diuretic for elevated BP, but not that one. Somehow they can mask ped results? Seems harsh if he has medical record of elevated BP, but I guess Dominican doctors aren't trusted by mlb or A Rule's a Rule?https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/robinson-cano-facing-80-game-ped-suspension.html
Cano suspended for 80 games for furosemide. Surprised his DL stint wasn't related to HF.
Too bad he can't be suspended for the rest of his contract without payhttps://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/robinson-cano-facing-80-game-ped-suspension.html

I think that’s a good move for the Rays. They were shopping Span and Colome in the off-season, but the market for them wasn’t very strong. Taking on Span’s contract was the price of getting the prospects they wanted back from SF in the Longo trade, so it seemed clear they would try to flip him. Colome hasn’t been setting anything on fire except for their chances of winning when he comes in, so their gamble that they’d get more for him by holding onto him into the season isn’t really paying off. The Rays are doing pretty well this year, all things considered, but unlikely to be a playoff team and they’re not really going to miss Span or Colome too much. Take the prospects, bank some cash to spend next year and move on.the firesale Rays are at it again.

And the Rays had to kick in $4.75M as wellStrange deal, neither Moore nor Romero is in SEA's top 30 prospects on mlb.com, and SEA's system is I think the worst in baseball.
Yeah. I can’t figure out why it warrants a headline. That Yankee thing is every day, isn't it?
Good riddance of Span's stupid 1.015 OPS against us this year!the firesale Rays are at it again.
