I think contractually, national broadcasters are required to show all 30 teams at some point each season. Stashing a game between two teams at/near the bottom of their respective divisions in the earliest slot on a day where a lot of folks are out of the house seems like a way to meet obligations without costing themselves too much due to an uninteresting match up.

Reminds me of my freshman year at college when I claimed to win the team batting title by going 4-10 on the year. My position player teammates didn't agree
