What do you mean? Nate Lowe is second in MLB in RBIs, behind only JDM. Oh, whoops… :)

TB petitioning the league for more games against NY, 5-1 against NY and 8-14 against everyone else.

Yeah, bringing in Tsutsugo just looks better and better every day!
Not even playing the Yankees can help them right now.

Last night's 11th-inning winning hit by Travis Shaw, Brewers, over the very rich Dodgers was very satisfying. By the by, the very expensive Mookie Betts, like the underpaid Shaw, hit a home-run earlier in the game, but came up short twice in extras, hitting a warning-tracker in the tenth and getting caught stealing in the eleventh. I know that sounds impossible, but both teams had many guys on base in the extra innings. It kept me up even later than was reasonable, as it made up in excitement for the dismal Sox loss. JBJ didn't do a damned thing at the plate, but I love seeing him anyway.

It seems that since the start of the 2020 season Yandy Diaz has returned to being the player the Indians knew him to be... great eye and plate discipline, but reluctant to retool his swing to increase his launch angle, and now his ability to barrel the ball has cratered. Of course, I'd still take him in a heartbeat over the useless carcass of Jake Bauers.

Luis Robert just stumbled and hopped across first base on an infield single before going to the ground. Probably just a muscle injury, but the way he's being helped off the field, he's almost certainly headed to the IL.

Dodgers up on the Brewers 16-1 going into the 9th and their #6 & #7 hitters Matt Beaty and AJ Pollock were a combined 7-for-10 with 3 home runs (Pollock with 2) and 15 rbi.

So it´s up to Harper.

I thought for a second Hoskins had been ejected.

Too bad for the kid.
Price may be back in the rotation!
Gonsolin is still ahead of him, but both Gonsolin and Price are hurt currently, so LA plans to go with a 4 man rotation for now and maybe Mitch White if they need a 5th guy before Gonsolin or Price is back.

Huascar Ynoa has been awesome on the mound and at the plate. Just hit a 427 ft grand slam and now has 2 homers and 6 RBI in 13 PA. Already has hit a ball over 110 exit velocity too.

What a clusterfuck in KC. Royals had runners on 2nd (Benitendi) & 3rd (Merrifield) with 1 out. Sal Perez hits it to the track in right-center. Two Cleveland outfielders got to it, but neither caught it. Because the wall there is the LED out-of-town scoreboard, no one else could actually see the ball. Merrifield crossed the plate, but Benitendi ran between 2nd and 3rd like a chicken with his head cut off until he was tagged out. Apparently one of the confused umpires called it a catch during the play, so Angel Hernandez decided it was a single but ignored everything else that actually happened and just granted Benitendi 3rd base (never mind there was no baserunner behind him and he was running back to 2nd). Fortunately, despite the jam, it ended up not affecting the score. I think Francona was ejected.

They were down to their last out in the 8th inning. But he does have a style about him.
I hate the guy.
Clearly you have yet to master all the rules of Calvinball, it was the second game of a doubleheader, so a seven inning game. Kimbrel gave up a game-tying HR in the 7th, then Baez saved the game there and the Cubs swept the doubleheader in the 9th.

You know, I watched the highlights after and was thoroughly confused, and now I know why.

McClanahan and Patino a pretty good 1-2 young gun combo. Rays bats coming back to life a bit, too. Back over .500 after taking first two in LAAAA

Byron Buxton is having the breakout of breakout years. And he's as good an OF as I've seen.*

It's too bad the Twins bullpen is as bad a bullpen as I've seen. They are now 1-9.

*Looking forward to the Yankees signing him in 2023 (sarcasm).

Angel screwed up. For the millionth time (millionth and one was later in the game at first base btw). He's not capable of doing the job and at this point it's an embarassment to the sport and other umpires that he's allowed out there.

Francona said what he asked Hernandez on the field after the explanation was "Why does this always happen when it's you?". Even the incorrect out call he made was so half-assed that most of the people on the field didn't notice.

But Kuntz noticed, and that's all that really mattered to screw up the play.

That said, Benintendi could have solved it by going back to the bag the first time. He was hanging out 5-6 steps off the bag watching the outfielders, then took two steps back toward second before turning around running to third only to be sent back by Kuntz. If he was so lost that he momentarily thought it was caught (the first attempt to go back) he should have just tagged anyway and then gone to third. That way he's covered however it plays out. After his initial hesitation, he wasn't going to score anyway, so those extra couple steps to tag up wouldn't have cost him anything.

Even on the rare occasions where Angel Hernandez gets it right, he's still a lightning rod. He's behind the plate tonight and ruled that Brady Singer hit Jose Ramirez on the hand with a pitch. The Royals challenged it, but replay upheld it. As Singer continued to crumble, he committed a balk a few minutes later that anyone watching could clearly see. Royals pitching coach Cal Eldred, manager Mike Matheny and Singer all lost their damn minds and were ejected by Hernandez.
