Just came back on Roku too for me. And Roku version is at least a full minute behind the web version. I just watched Lewis get hurt again for Newcastle.

California. Duh.
There was no foul, and I don't think it was even contact with a Liverpool player that caused him to go down. But the ref either needs to stop it or let it go.

Well, that one is good.

Everton, I can't quit you.

Draw at Stamford Bridge.

Rafa played the kids today. Winger Anthony Gordon has been getting regular action, but CB Jarrad Branthwaite and striker Ellis Simms got their first starts, and rookie Lewis Dobbin subbed in at 60' for Simms.

Pickford turned in a career performance and kept Chelsea at bay until Mount finally picked the lock at 70'. Everton equalized a few minutes later as the 6'6" Branthwaite stuck out a very long leg and nudged a free kick into the corner.

Gotta hand it to Rafa - he got the lineup, subs, and tactics exactly right. Toffees were of course outgunned and didn't try to play football for 90 minutes with Chelsea, but they played with vigor and spirit, mostly kept their shape, and had a few other decent chances.

In the big picture getting crushed might have been better because it might have hastened the ax, but like the Arsenal game, every time it looks inevitable we turn in a great performance. Unexpected happiness today.

Big win for Liverpool mainly because of the postponed matches elsewhere. Getting this one in today means less congestion on the back half of the schedule, which could be quite considerable if there’s going to be a shutdown.

Chelsea had a whole bunch of great chances, especially in the first half, and while Pickford made some great saves, Chelsea's lack of finishing really hurt them. This seemed like one of those baseball games where you get five hits and three walks against a pitcher in the first three innings but somehow you don't manage to score and you then end up losing 2-1. It wasn't a loss for Chelsea but it sure felt like one.

Yup.

Watching Pool and City shred other sides lately, they have a cutting edge that Chelsea don't.

More importantly that once invincible defence is showing cracks.
True. Everton had 20% possession (we haven't had much all season, and our midfield was poor today), but we had some decent attacking play in the second half - there were a few spells (a few, short spells) where I thought we were better value to get a second than Chelsea. A squad of spring-training numbers from a side in relegation form should not have had any joy in the last twenty minutes.
