I'm not really sure what Mike's so pissed off about. That Funhouse has a larger audience than he does? That he feels Funhouse, or Funhouse's followers are making fun of Mike or mocking Mike?

It's not like Funhouse is taking dime one of of Mike's pocket. If anything, Funhouse got Mike more main stream press than Mike has seen in years, and the Trump clip doesn't disparage Mike in the least.

What an idiot. Far too many people viewed me, so I need to shut this down.

He definitely is concerned about blowback from trump.

Funhouse and followers started encouraging people to unfollow Mike and now Mike's threatening to dox him. What a crybaby. He and Trump are so similar, it's uncanny.

Bully is an odd term from that guy there. He seems to exist to talk shit on sports personalities.

Yes. 5-6 on Radio.com. He jumps on for a half hour on WFAN at 6. He's also doing Sundays until 1 for the foreseeable future.
From what little I've heard of him lately (haven't been in the car much lately!), the half hour show is All Coronavirus All The Time. Heard him ripping Trump last week, and he's historically been pretty pro-Trump.

Mike has been very critical of Trump’s response to the virus while still saying he supports him and would vote for him again. In other words, typical Mike. The worst move he ever made was the C&D to Funhouse. He might as well be yelling out of the window of his house at this point.

LOL. Mike and Entercom have lifted the restrictions on his audio and video,
Yup and the guy who runs the backaftathis site says he's not interested without a salary.

The anonymous man behind the account confirmed that stance in a brief phone interview with the Daily News on Thursday. “When this happened, it was like he let me out of jail,” Funhouse told the Daily News on Thursday. “I haven’t listened to a word of his show since ... It’s been nice.”

When asked if he would ever post Francesa clips again, he said it would take “a significant annual salary.” In other words, it’s not happening.

Wow, what? There was no way he would rank BB over Lombardi, but fourth? What a maniac.

Gotta love how he can’t consistently apply his own logic. Holds BB’s playoff record against him in ranking Lombardi over him....but then summarily ignores his own criterion when ranking two coaches less successful in the playoffs by any measure.

where I was last at
I'm sort of in the Paul Brown camp on this one, as a lot of modern day football strategy came from him, BUT

Winning a close game, particularly in the SB, against the best teams. is probably due in part to being a very good coach, and should not be held against BB, particularly in an era when the NFL has aimed for parity.

And nothing against Lombardi, a great coach, but his 9-1 record was basically the same team (1960-67) chock full of HoF players, with 7 of the wins coming in his last 3 years at GB. And he missed the post-season 4 of his 10 years.

Mike's one way "beef" with BB clouds his judgement
At the risk of repeating myself: my wife delivered Mike and Ro's twins. After a somewhat rough introduction ("you sound like that guy with the idiot partner that my husband listens to all the time...." which got a laugh out of Mike), my wife hit it off in grand style first with Ro, then with Mike. Early on, it came up that I'm from Boston, and completely out of the blue, Mike himself brought up his whole thing with Belichick. My wife had NO idea what he was talking about, but he felt some need to clear the air.

I had to explain it all to her when she got home that night.

Mike being Mike: completely unsolicited Mike INSISTED on sending me an autographed photo. My wife tried every way she could to tell him "Thanks, but no thanks, it's really not necessary, you're a busy guy, your wife just had twins....", but he INSISTED.

A week or two later, she got an envelope in the mail at work with an autographed 5x7 B&W promo photo in it.

He seems to be a really good guy when he's not doing schtick on the air.

I’ve always had a lot of empathy for him with regards to his father abandoning the family and his younger brother’s suicide. He also comes across like a great family man. Doesn’t mean his takes aren’t ludicrous or unintentionally funny.

The best part about that link is the suggestion that WFAN will bring back Craig "convicted felon" Carton because ratings suck. That would be amazing.
That rumor/what-if has been kicking around the NYC market for a while now.

Around the time that ESPN canned Mike Golic, fans on social media were suggesting a team of Carton and Golic for WFAN afternoon drive. (admittedly, fans, not industry insiders)

Wait, Golic Sr was fired? But Golic Jr remains on seemingly every radio show on ESPN?

A fittingly sad last day. Prank calls and some empty boasts. He never should have come back.
View: https://twitter.com/BackAftaThis/status/1286846471921336325

Mike Francesa received three prank calls in a row on his "last day" at WFAN today.

Last day is in quotes because I'll believe he's gone for good when I see it

Big Mike reiterates that he is NOT retiring. He now plans to sort through the numerous offers for his services which are currently rolling in.

Multiple media reports that WFAN will be/has offering afternoon drive to Craig Carton.
Could be Boomer and Gio in the morning, Roberts and Gray in the midday, and Carton/TBA in afternoon. They can’t stand losing ratings battles to the Kay show. The Kay show has grown on me and I tend to listen to that over Evan and Joe if I’m tuning into a local station in the car.

Games like today are when we miss mike francesa. I can’t imagine the type of show he would have had after the Eagles screwed over the giants.

I'm pretty sure his take would have been that the Eagles owed the Giants nothing, and the Giants have no one but themselves to blame for missing the playoffs. He would have then spent the afternoon saying to caller after caller, "Look when you are 6-10, you do not get to complain about missing the playoffs. I'm sorry Giants fans but that's the truth. You want to be mad at somebody, be mad at your team for not winning more games. Backaftathis."

“Here's an idea, Giants: next year don't leave making the playoffs in somebody else's hands.”
