Between Kelce and Gonzalez..... they aren't that far apart, Kelce isn't as bad as he was, Gonzalez was never particularly good, it's a small point in Gonzo's favor, but don't think it's likely enough to offset the passcatching threat differential. Why are we pretending that BLOCKING isn't part of playing tight end?
I'm not.Why are we pretending that BLOCKING isn't part of playing tight end?
Up to $8M so guessing there are a decent amount of incentives that he probably won’t come close to reaching given he’ll be a #3 behind two target hogs but we’ll see.I legit forgot ODB was on the Ravens. And for $8M? The NFL seems like such a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately" league that I am surprised that ODB is still getting that kind of interest.
Yeah, I added that after you posted. That makes a bit more sense.Up to $8M so guessing there are a decent amount of incentives that he probably won’t come close to reaching given he’ll be a #3 behind two target hogs but we’ll see.
I'd have liked Boyd at that number here.Tyler Boyd to the Titans. 1yr up to 4.5mil. They're giving Levis some nice options down there.

I like what the Titans are doing a little too much and might embarrass myself in the preseason predictions thread when we get there.Tyler Boyd to the Titans. 1yr up to 4.5mil. They're giving Levis some nice options down there.

Very solid deal for his quality of player, but he profiles very similarly to guys we already have. Though considering we gave Osborn 4 million and he plays a similar role, I'd much rather have had Boyd at that price.I'd have liked Boyd at that number here.
This sucks tbh. He was such a great teammate on the field. Played hurt his last year in college. I have nothing but positive memories watching him play and was excited for his future. I hope he matures and fast . I am rooting for this young man to turn it around and fast!Geez he seems like such a good dude.
Your move, Jerry Jones. It won’t be any cheaper than this.
And BB wouldn’t give Tom Brady $25m a year for 2 years!!!!Your move, Jerry Jones. It won’t be any cheaper than this.
MahomesI think the Goff contract is fine, he's a top-12 guy who can perform within the confines of a system at a high level. The Lions have the pieces to contend, it would make zero sense to start over at QB. See what Hendon Hooker is (even though he's old already) and if he sucks, there's still time to try to find another guy before those four years are up. And if you don't, Goff will still be young enough by then. I think he's among the most underrated players in football.
stats aren’t everything of course, but Goff was 7th in ANY/A, 9th in passer rating, 8th in TD%, 7th in completion%. His big drawbacks are obviously the lack of running and being 19th in INT% (although higher than Stafford, Mahomes, Tua, Purdy, Hurts and Allen). He was very good in the playoffs last year (unlike Tua and Purdy)Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Hurts
Herbert
Lamar

Are imho clearly better
I guessit can be argued he’s better than Jlaw, Dak, Love, Murray, Arich and Baker (or all except 1 to be top 12)
agreed on that last sentence. It’s baffling why Goff isn’t routinely considered to be a very good starting QB. Not elite, but he’s had 4 very good/great years. Even his 2021 season was solid given the circumstances.I think the Goff contract is fine, he's a top-12 guy who can perform within the confines of a system at a high level. If you consider age, ability to avoid serious injury, and established history of performing in high-pressure situations, I think you could list Goff ahead of Tua, Rodgers and Herbert and seriously consider putting him ahead of Burrow until Joe Cool can go two years in a row without a devastating injury. You could also at least consider putting him ahead of Purdy until we're sure Purdy is not just a Shanahan confection and Hurts given the way the Eagles' season went last year.Mahomes

I'd take him over Hurts, Tua and Purdy any day of the week. But sure, Dak is better right now and Lawrence and Love are good bets to be better next year. So about 12 is perfectly right.Mahomes

What devastating injury did Burrow have in 2021 or 2022?If you consider age, ability to avoid serious injury, and established history of performing in high-pressure situations, I think you could list Goff ahead of Tua, Rodgers and Herbert and seriously consider putting him ahead of Burrow until Joe Cool can go two years in a row without a devastating injury. Love looks promising but I don’t know that Lawrence is a good bet to be better. He was significantly worse last year and has a worse supporting cast (much worse if Brian Thomas doesn’t pan out immediately).I'd take him over Hurts, Tua and Purdy any day of the week. But sure, Dak is better right now and Lawrence and Love are good bets to be better next year. So about 12 is perfectly right.
Lawrence lost more EPA to drops than any other QB last year, he was much better than his stats would indicate. I think odds are he'll already be a better player next year, just don't know how the numbers (advanced or otherwise) will shake up. He just can do more than Goff, and I'm not talking just in terms of physical talent, I think he's a more aggressive thrower with more creativity in structure. He's also way more inconsistent with his accuracy, but Goff isn't great at pinpointing passes towards the sidelines either, even though he's a much better MOF thrower at this point (probably one of the best in football). It's close for 2024.Love looks promising but I don’t know that Lawrence is a good bet to be better. He was significantly worse last year and has a worse supporting cast (much worse if Brian Thomas doesn’t pan out immediately).
Goff has a tougher slate of divisional games on paper (though so does Love) but I think Lawrence is still riding his #1 overall pick hype. He’s shown flashes of being very good. He also has a lot of very mediocre play and if the justification for that is supporting cast, I don’t know that it has improved a whole lot

LOL that was my first thought. Why are they ripping off hockey jerseys?Fuck the Habs.
and he might not be on madden 25 as wellDamn. I'm sure the Cards are psyched that their 1st Rd pick is spending time getting sued already.

Didn't see this coming with the Sr and Jr Harrison, although, in retrospect, perhaps I should have.
A couple months ago, I would have anticipated something like this happening with a different top-pick-who-was-being-repped-by-his-dad: Caleb Williams.
“I’m just going to take things slowly,” Parker said.
Oddly enough, he finally figured out how to get separation“I’m just going to take things slowly,” Parker said.
Yeah, we know you will, DeVante.
His salary was guaranteed and it was a cut, so no. I think if he had retired as a Patriot pre-cut, they would have saved about $3 million.Does this have any impact on Pats Cap? He was a $6.3M dead cap hit
the judges were looking for “what Mac Jones does to a motherfucker”Huh, I thought he retired two years ago
Fucked the pats one last time. His salary was guaranteed and it was a cut, so no. I think if he had retired as a Patriot pre-cut, they would have saved about $3 million.

I stand corrected — Miguel reports this morning that Parker’s contract had a clause that excepted 2024 salary from the guarantees if Parker retired from football. So, the Patriots will get a credit of about $3 million.Fucked the pats one last time.
Eh. He was mid for almost his entire career, except for one major outlier season that he turned into a bunch of paychecks.Nice, that’s good news and good for him- to walk away from that kind of money can’t be easy. But if the thrill is gone, it’s gone.
He was bad last year but he wasn’t terrible in 2022 by any stretch. Over 17 yards per catch and a 66% catch with over 11 yards per target despite having a disaster around him.Eh. He was mid for almost his entire career, except for one major outlier season that he turned into a bunch of paychecks.
I wish him nothing but the best because I have no hate in my heart. He made 57 million by being a 500 yard receiver. That is well done. But fuck him too. He was terrible with the Pats.
That $3M credit is no chump change for the cap. Could end up offsetting some of these incentives.I stand corrected — Miguel reports this morning that Parker’s contract had a clause that excepted 2024 salary from the guarantees if Parker retired from football. Parker by retiring walks away from about $4.3 million this year. When I read the “time with family,” it sounded a bit disingenuous when it looked like he would be taking $3.2 million not to play. But it looks like he is serious. I guess $4 million doesn’t mean as much when you’ve made $50 million in a career.
