This could get ugly. Cowboys seem prepared to slap the franchise tag on Lamb next year and he wants his money now. And there are a ton of recent comps that he knows he deserves but the franchise tag prevents him from getting. I know Jerry has Parsons and Dak to deal with but he’s always been a star humper and he turns 82 in October. Surprised he’s digging in here if the goal is to win another SB before he crosses the River Styx.

Buffalo put Chase Claypool on IR, which means he will be released through an injury settlement or not play this season. The Pats not trading a second rounder like Chicago did (ie, three teams ago) looks better by the transaction with this guy.

Browns second rounder (their top pick) is well, possibly already done. Forever.

Did they give him the choice between a procedure that was best for his future career and one that was just ok?
They'll have to consent him for both pre-op since of course the player can't make the call during the surgery.

I'm sure they laid out his options and they had a good idea of what they would find given the MRI, but they usually can't decide for sure until in the surgery and the patient is under anesthesia.

Makes sense he would want a repair if a large portion of the meniscus that's torn and trimming it out will lead to lots of cartilage issues. Maybe a big displaced bucket handle tear that would have required them getting rid of a ton of meniscal tissue without a repair.

What's the status of artificial/regrown cartilage. I saw that for the PAO hip procedure they can also biopsy a layer of cartilage that they then use. Is that truly a thing? I though cartilage could not be grown. Video at 3 min mark

Anecdotal (but confirming this), but for my meniscus surgery my Dr. told me that given my age (26 at the time) and what he saw on the MRI, that he should be able to repair the meniscus and recommended going that route despite the longer recovery time. It turned out that once he got in there, I guess he determined it was beyond repair and just trimmed out the damaged area. I was a little disappointed at the higher change of arthritis developing in my knee, but the silver lining was that my recovery was quicker.

Is it me or is BUF going to be pretty bad this year? Not NE bad but like 6-11, 7-10 bad.
Josh Allen will get them above 500. But it doesn't look like a Super Bowl team. Milano was a huge loss for the defense last year, too.

Brilliant QB play can go a long way. They’ll win 10 games at least.
Yeah, they get 2 layup wins against the Pats so they basically need to be a .500 team in the remaining games to get to 10 wins. Of course, same could be said for Jets and Dolphins so we’ll see how the division wins split up.

Eh… he was lousy for the first quarter and most of the second. He certainly can run around, that’s for sure. But holy cow his antics and body language are irritating.

The other thing that jumps out to me is how much the Bears broadcast team is gushing about him. 6-13 against back ups is okay, but you’d think he’s the second coming listening to the TV guys. It just provides a stark contrast to how the media currently covers the Pats, i.e. before we praise, we must criticize first. I understand that context is critical (Chicago is starving for any glimpse of good QB play, while here in New England all QBs will forever suck in comparison to TB12); I’m just noting how much it stands out.

He spun out of the pocket and rolling to his left threw a 45 yard dime to Odunze down the sideline. It was an insane throw.

He ran around a bunch. Sailed a few throws. Didn’t set his feet a couple of times. He’s obviously wildly talented. He wasn’t great today.

He showed the ability to do things maybe 3 other QBs in the league can, as a rookie in pre-season behind a bad O-line. That's all you can ask for, worrying about a few missed throws (he also had a ridiculous throw dropped in the EZ) misses the point.

Also Sherman is totally full of shit comparing him to Fields, I liked Fields... he cannot make that play, if Fields got flushed he ran, he still can't keep his eyes down field and make a lazer pin-point pass to the exact spot. If you look at that play and don't think he's a special talent..... maybe covering football isn't the spot for you.

Rousseau is eating Broderick Jones alive.

(Ironically, Okorafor was benched in favor of Jones.)
By most accounts Okorafor was benched not because Jones was better, but for pointing out that their Offensive coordinator was terrible at his job, then they decided that they had invested in Jones and should just play him either way.

The sad part to me is that he still didn’t step into that throw because he was trying to get it out quickly.
