For those of you who haven't done so, I strongly recommend listening to Bill Simmons's interview with Theo on the topic of evolving the rules of the game to make it more entertaining. Theo provided a lot of very interesting insights (many of which are reflected in this thread). I am a huge "keep things the way they are" guy, but Theo's case for change was pretty compelling.

Theo’s interview was really good. I’m actually less worried now than before because many people are onto potential solutions to the problem of high strikeouts and three true outcomes.

The Theo conversation was great. I especially appreciate that he had objective measures taken from prior decades (strikeout rates in particular) and some historical perspective.

As for this season, it seems like some teams, including the Sox, are finding ways to score that provide for entertaining baseball:

Astros- 1st in runs, 1st in hits, 15th in homeruns, 1st in Ks (least in MLB), 1st in batting average, 3rd in OBP, 2nd in slugging %.

White Sox- 2nd in runs, 3rd in hits, 21st in homeruns, 13th in Ks, 2nd in batting average, 2nd in OBP, 6th in slugging %.

Red Sox- 3rd in runs, 2nd in hits, 10th in homeruns, 14th in Ks, 3rd in batting average, 6th in OBP, 1st in slugging %.
