The cradle of the game.
Registration asking for job title, organization and media type. I don't work in baseball, but would like access to the goodies there. Any particular strategy better than others? Or is this a 'no chance in hell' situation?

what if you started a blog? I am pretty sure SoSH as an entity is reputable enough to get access

One might think so, but that's not the case. I tried for years, including when I was actually employed as a newspaper journalist (albeit a news reporter, not a sportswriter). Even my sports freelancing work the past 8 years, including a bunch of Sox-centric writing, didn't cut it.

As a rule they seem to limit access to credentialed media members actively involved in covering MLB or a specific team, though I'm sure there are exceptions made for those with referrals from league or team PR directors.

Is the expectation that they've got statistical goodies behind the wall that we can't get from a Fangraphs or Baseball Reference?  Or do you think they have an MLB beat writers version of P&G where they perv over pictures of player's wives and try to determine who among them left an upper-decker in the press box shitter at Comerica Park?
