Not sure if anyone is still having the 2012 calendar problem but I found a fix online last night that worked for me. I went into the PS3 browser and cleared the cache. I then uninstalled the MLB.TV app and re-installed the same version. Rebooted the system and voila! 2013 calendar! I probably could have skipped the uninstall/reinstall step but I figured it couldn't hurt to try that as well.

Now I just need to test if the games will actually play.

MLB Gameday is also about a pitch ahead of the video feed on the PS3.  I discovered this because NESN refused to use the Amica Pitch Zone during the game yesterday, and I wanted to track balls and strikes.

Today, both Gameday and WEEI are sync'ed up with the video. Bravo, MLB.TV. With all due respect to Don and Jerry, this is the best way to watch baseball.

I tried using the WEEI overlay the past two nights and the game would immediately buffer and revert back to the NESN audio. Hopefully this gets resolved soon because I'm getting a little tired of Dumb and Dumber and the PS3 app doesn't appear to give the option of just the ballpark sounds.

Which device does give the option for just ballpark sounds?

I haven't used it this year, but the last few years the PS3 has had ballpark only sounds. It's only available with the home broadcast though. So you would've needed to be using the YES stream instead of NESN.

It's working fairly well tonight.  A few moments where it buffered back to NESN, but it returns to EEI after a few seconds.  The sync is perfect, though.

Hey everyone - I recently discovered that At Bat 13 streaming live video is only SD on Android devices. They stated this on their support forum. Anyone know if this is the case on Apple devices (specifically the Ipad Mini)?

This has been verified. Within the Droid platform, MLB app video streams are SD.
Additionally, this is a change that has to made within the platform by Droid developers (not MLB). Unfortunately, I cannot give you precise a date when this will change.

Looks pretty HD on the iPad, though I'm not sure what the actual resolution is. It definitely looks like 720p video to me though. Same on the iPhone, at least when using Wifi or having a strong 4G signal.

I had six last year. But, you don't really expect MLB to come out and say how many people per subscription can steal from them, do you?

Anyone know why I can't get the NESN feed tonight? It's only giving me the RSN feed.

Just purchased tonight, forgot how hit and miss MLBtv can be. Quick question though, I'm interested in the Park only audio but the video is already lagging at times; does installing nextdef make that specific problem worse?

I've been having  a lot of little issues with mlbtv via my ROKU and i am not sure if it is mlbtv, the ROKU or my wireless connection. I have yet to see a full game in the last few weeks because it starts "loading" or it just freezes. Anyone else having similar issues?

I have found that it works fine if I try to watch "live" but if I go to the beginning of the game, then it freezes in "loading" mode.

OJ, I get this all the time.  It's fine, fine fine, then it chokes and either gets stuck in a loop until I reboot the program or just won't start again.  My resolution drops to almost nothing... like seriously, it's worse than 8 bit video game graphics... then it will lag behind live by 30 seconds to a minute and will refuse to catch up.

I have no idea if this is a problem with MLB.TV, the app I have for it on my PS3 or my internet connection, but since the issues I have are frequent and random enough they often don't carry over from device to device too consistently.  I think it's my internet, which sucks, but sometimes my issues correlate with posters in the game thread so it might be a combination of problems playing out.

Holy shit! They must be hurting if they're offering it for half price with only one month of the season gone. I remember I bought it for my brother for his birthday, in August, a couple years ago and that's about how much it cost then.

Thank you, Corsi! Youdaman!

p.s. My husband and I had just laughed at the only email offer we rec'd, which was one month free, then top price for the remaining months.

If you went straight to the mlb.tv site yesterday, they were still getting $115.  It only was reduced to $57 via Corsi's link.  (I was already in at $130 so it wasn't benefiting me anyways, just making me kick myself a bit.)

We have Verizon FiOs and have been pretty happy with it, in fact we recently "upgraded" the faster service, and I swear that is when the problems started.

Install nexdef, select the home tv feed and it should pop as an audio overlay option.

At least that's the way it worked last year -- I haven't reinstalled nexdef as it puts you a few pitches behind... No good for game threading.

I too have been getting shit feeds via mlb.tv lately.  Being in Hawaii, I almost never watch the game live.  After I got home from work tonight I tried to watch the game but it was so bad I had to give up.  On a Roku box the resolution is trash and it needs to reload regularly.  It's pretty much unwatchable.  On my computer the resolution is trash and I've even noticed the feed will spontaneously jump backwards once in a while, usually just a little, but occasionally all the way to the beginning.  I have a very fast internet connection (50 Mbits downstream).  Neflix and Hulu work perfectly, and streaming 1080p bluray encodes locally over my network is flawless.  I think it's safe to say the problem is on their end.

It's pretty pathetic when the less-than-legal rebroadcasts that can be found on the internet work better than the official paid product.

I noticed it's gone on the PS3 as well, which pisses me off a bit.
Nice to have the game on with just park sounds when doing other stuff in the living room with the kids.

Will it be possible to watch the draft on mlb.tv for the PS3?  I'm not finding anything suggesting I can watch it anywhere but mlbn or mlb.com.  I'd rather watch on my TV than my laptop if possible.  Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious.

Can't help you on Roku but the rule of thumb with MLB.tv on a PC is if it's screwing up, nexdef is probably why. Get rid of Nexdef, uncheck choose best resolution for me and see what happens. If you're just streaming a game from the start it should work OK.

Everything associated with mlb is completely fucked tonight.  My PS3 has been removed from my account and they won't let me put it back on.  In fact, since I started trying to relink it, the activation website at ps3.com/mlbtv has stopped functioning.

In short, it's not you... mlb screwed the pooch tonight.

Anyone else notice a massive increase in reported data usage from there ISP because of mlb tv?  My reported data usage went up almost 4 times from April to May, and mlb tv is the majority of my streaming video that I think is contributing to this.  I watch about the same number of games in May as April, but maybe the feed quality went up causing the data usage to go way up as well, I'm not sure.

Do you use NextDef? That's probably it. The picture is sparkling but it must be very heavy from a data standpoint.

By the way, MLB.tv is one of the best internet services out there. It is really well done.

Interesting. I may have to go back to using the PS3. I've been using the app built-in on my "Smart" TV, which has an interface that looks about 10 years old. So if the PS3 interface is actually awesome now, it might be worth switching back.

Mine downloaded fine, and I agree, it's a solid improvement over the previous version.  I haven't played with it enough to know if there are any changes to the settings/options, but visually, it's just a lot smoother and more intuitive.

Now, if only, Roku would upgrade their UI.

Usually that means there's a problem with the connection. A friend of mine who has issues with updates said he has to keep restarting the system (10-12 times...) and eventually it hooks on. A better option would be connecting the Ethernet cord straight from the router to the PS3. You'll have to update your connection settings to "wired connection", though.

That would be weird as I have a strong wifi signal and have no problem downloading anything else or streaming.

Having to use the X button instead of the Enter button on the PS3 remote really sucks #FirstWorldProblems. I have my PS3 connected to my router via ethernet cable, so I don't notice any performance improvements in the new UI. I wish I could roll it back.

Any ideas what's going on here?

This has been a fix for several issues, though I don't know if it will fix that as well.  Try going into your network settings and changing to google's DNS.  Preferred should be 8.8.8.8 and Alternate should be 8.8.4.4

I want to give MLB.tv to my son as a gift when he goes off to college in a couple weeks so he can watch the Nats. They are in market for him now so should I wait until he leaves the area and establishes an out of market IP address at his college? Not sure how this works.

Thanks.

** MLB.TV live streaming not supported by Android OS 4.3 **

Earlier this week, I applied the update to the Android OS on my Nexus 7 to bring it up to 4.3.  Then, the next time I went to watch a game with the At Bat app, I got hit with this:

The Android OS (v. 4.3) does not support MLB.TV live video streaming. We are working to resolve the Android OS issue and expect live video streaming access on v. 4.3 will be included in a future app update.

The Nexus is the device that I usually watch mlb.tv on so I guess I'm SOL until they issue an update to the app.  Not holding my breath on that.

I'm cheap and told my roomate I'd pay half of the MLB.TV subscription and he could pay the other half. My question is, can we both use the same account at the same time when trying to watch the Sox game? He's mostly at home and I'm at school a lot of the time.
