Jamin Davis at 120 too? I've seen him mocked as early as the late 20s
He's almost always available on PFF well into the early to mid 100's, along with Jamar Johnson (S), even though they are both ranked in the 40's on the PFF board. I just ran one and they were both still available at 139.

I like TheDraftNetwork mock drafts, especially with the $30 premium membership. I think the trades are a little more realistic.

To wit: I just traded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks in 2021 *and* 2022 to get up to 4 and draft Fields. Would you do this?

Personally, no. I dont know that Fields is enough of a slam dunk to effectively kneecap your next two drafts. I dont see enough separation among any of the QBs not named Trevor to warrant that level of a deal. I'd rather wait to see who slips to the ~7 range and if one does, and he is someone i like, deal there. Still won't be cheap, but I could see that being closer to 2 1's and one 2 and one 3, which I would do in a heartbeat (especially for Lance who I am highest on).

I tried one at TDN, but couldn't make trades without a paid sub. There are drastic differences in player rankings as compared to PFF, which threw me off especially in the early rounds. I also didn't plan to take more than one or two at most WR, but couldn't help myself from selecting Jaelon Darden at 242 even with Cade Johnson already selected earlier. (On PFF these two WR seems to go much closer to each other, around the 140 range.)

15. Alijah Vera-Tucker, G/T
46. Jevon Holland, S/CB
96. Michael Carter, RB
120. Kendrick Green, G/C
122. Andre Cisco, S
139. Cade Johnson, WR
177. Damar Hamlin, S/ST
188. Bobby Brown III, NT
197. Simi Fehoko, WR
242. Jaelon Darden, WR

Using PFN (and not knowing much about later players, or most outside top 15) it seems like a lot of trades line up to move back repeatedly and stockpile 2022/2023 2nd and 3rd round picks. I think I’d rather gamble on a full college evaluation season with a war chest of picks at Bill’s disposal.

Problem is next years QB crop is weak and we would likely be positioned at best with a great team and NO QB. It’s possible to win that way but it’s really really hard

Yeah, the bad part is that their rankings are weird, and you can't tune them the way you can PFF. The good part is you can see the remaining players based on their board, which I haven't been able to do on PFF, so I'm just a spectator after 25 picks or so.

I just did a quick 3 round draft with the PFN generator and yielded the following:
15: Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
46: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
96: Jackson Carman, OT, Clemson

The Clemson fan in me smiled, but the Pats fan shook his head.

*Running the PFN generator is really addictive.

Do you guys ever do group mocks here? Probably a bit late for one this year, but would be kind of fun.

My vision is a 7 round mock with 32 owners, 1 for each team, preferably with everyone having at least some interest in their assigned team.

Draft in thread & all trade offers made publicly in thread.

Not sure on a pick window, but someone (Me? Multiple people?) could accept draft boards of whatever length if the owner thinks they'll miss their window, or make a reasonable pick if they go MIA.

Owners could also have co-owners if a couple people are interested in working together on a certain team, etc.

Seems wayyyy too ambitious & should have started month ago. Maybe next year lol.

we did a 3 round one back in 2014, which was great fun. Might be able to sneak in 2 rounds if people commit to picking quickly.

Would we get 32 people? Maybe 8 people, one per division?

Anyway, I'm in too

Peter King loves weird.

Over the past 21 years we have learned to not get surprised by anything BB does. Drafting Smith would maybe be the most shocking move he’s ever made.

I have no idea. Seems like there are a good # of people here & I could probably grab a few good ones from elsewhere to join & help with #s. But I think I was too late in my vision unless we don't care if this ends after the actual draft, regardless of the # of participants.

Are there any sites that can allow for a group to mock in real time? 3 days pre-draft, "slow drafting" seems impossible.

I'm in for this if you just wanted to do a 1-round mock for this year and moving forward we do a 7 round mock starting on April 1.

I was part of one on another site and we just created a shared Google doc and you post your pick on that sheet and let the next person know they're up.

I'll play if someone wants to set up the 1-round mock for this year, & happy to set up something fancy & 7 rounds for 2022, but don't have the time over the next couple days to organize anything.

With Lance on the board at 13, Phil Perry has the Pats trading 15 + 96 to move up... and drafting Waddle
I'm really curious to see how it shakes out between Waddle, Chase, and Smith. There's a case to be made for each guy being the first WR off the board. Feels like whichever one goes first, and if he's not the most productive, there's also an easy way for critics to slam you. You pick Smith and he's not as good as Chase? Simply point to Chase's physical attributes and say it was obvious that Smith, at his size, wouldn't be as good in the NFL. You pick Waddle over Smith and Waddle isn't as good? Simply point to Smith's absolutely INSANE college production and say it was obvious that he was going to be great in the NFL.

But honestly...I have NO clue which of the three will end up being the best. I think all three will be really good.

I did a TDN mock draft. It actually was pretty normal top of the draft with 4 QBs in the top 9. Fields at 3, Pitts at 4, Sewell 5, Chase 6, Waddle 7, Slater 8, Lance 9, Surtain 10, Smith 11, Horn 12, Darrisaw 13, and Jenkins 14.

15-Mac Jones
46-Liam Eichenberg
96-Divine Deablo
120-Marvin Wilson
122-Robert Rochell
139-Cade Johnson
177-Jonathon Cooper
188-Cornell Powell
197-Demetric Felton

Chris Simms’ 2021 NFL mock draft

3. San Francisco 49ers – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
8. Washington Football Team (Proposed trade with Carolina) – Trey Lance, QB, NDSU
11. New England Patriots (Proposed trade with New York) – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
I could actually see the Pats trading up and not taking one of the QBs, which will piss everyone off including myself, but Fields at 32, no way

SImms isn't someone serious. The running joke is that he's Skip Bayless's worst takes without the personality... he wants to be a hot-take artist, but doesn't have any juice. There's a reason people like the Ringer football guys openly mock him.

There would be a ridiculous level of delicious irony if the Patriots pass on their franchise QB of the post Brady era and the Bucs draft the same guy to be their post-Brady QB.

I don’t think it would actually be ironic, but I wouldn’t worry about it, that mock draft from Simms is straight trash on this point. The Bears passing on Fields is laughable.

That's funny because Phil has been loudly banging the drum for weeks now on the Pats needing to trade up for a Top 5 QB (and good-naturedly fighting with Curran about it).

Seems like he's forcing himself to pick like he THINKS the Pats will choose over his own strong preference on that one.

While I'd be happy with the Pats coming out of this first round with an elite talent like Waddle (and worth 96 IMO) I ultimately can't get over the gaping future hole at QB either.

I'm gonna keep hoping that Bill continues to go against type this offseason and make a move for QB. I can't see him paying a King's Ransom to move to 4 but I'd definitely be down with this years 1/2 and 3 or maybe next year's 2nd to grab Fields or Lance if they slide even a little. They'd still have some dry powder for next year but arguably have less NEEDS this year that require draft capital now.

With Cam already in place this year and a strong program around them I think the bust chances are lower than historical comps would suggest. So unless their scouting is really down on them the upside is too valuable to the franchise not to try if the price isn't crippling.

TDN mocks increasingly have Lance going 2. Is there something I am missing? Could this in fact be the ultimate smokescreen???
Could it happen? Sure, But there's no reason for the Jets to smokescreen. Because Lawrence is a definite #1 pick they are essentially on the clock. I could buy rumors of them trading down (a spot or 2) but there's no reason to plant rumors at #2 if they're keeping the pick.

Bears beat writer Brad Biggs mocks Chicago trading up to 4 for Lance. Biggs has covered the Bears since 2001, so he's plugged in all over the place. This reads to me like Ryan Pace getting the idea out there to build public support to get the McCaskey's sign off.

Have to think the price for moving up from 20 to 4 is 3 first firsts plus some lower rounds swapping.

EDIT: Trask after Mond was unintentional, but I don’t hate the idea of throwing a couple picks at the wall if we don’t trade up for Fields.

For fun I ran a full sim, then ran my own draft to see which I like better (limited my self to either taking or rejecting auto offers when on the clock):
Sim... they didn't make any trades:
15- Barmore
46- Marshall
96 Rochell
120- Royce Newman
122- Roche
139- Rhamonde Stevenson
177- Shaka Toney
188- Landon Young
197- Larry Borom
242-Noah Gray

Mine:
22- Barmore
46- Elijah Moore
51- Landon Dickerson
82- Nick Bolton
85- Kellen Mond
111- Adebo
120- Stone Forsyth
139- Andre Cisco
177- Kylin Hill
188- Cornell Powell
2022 5ths from CIN and TEN

Trades:
15 and 122 to WAS for 19, 51, 82 (WFT selected Owusu-Koramoah )
19 to TEN for 22 and 85 ( TEN selected Newsome)
96 and 242 to TEN for 100 and TEN 5th (TEN took Dylan Moses)
100 and 197 to CIN for 114 and CIN 5th (CIN took Trey Sermon)

I take yours 10/10 times. I do enjoy running the sim without picking though just to see what happens.
yeah, I agree I take mine. I think among other things, if you aren't getting a QB and nobody you really wants falls (like Slater or something) trading down at least once gets you a much better draft. Any of the guys I considered at 15 were there at 19, and when I got to 19 there were 4 guys I was fine with so I went down again. Part of this is probably that I'm not that enamored with Parsons or Smith.
