How many gadget plays does this team run? The videos are incredible - this guy does things.

Given he's a Rutgers product, was he ever on the Patriots' radar? He was on the board in the 3rd, but the Patriots turned this pick into Jake Bequette and the artist formerly known as Chad Ochocinco. I'm not playing Captain Hindsight, but honestly curious if he was ever rumored as a potential target for NEP.

I was obsessed with the guy coming out of the draft (almost in an unhealthy way), so I scoured every nugget of info coming from the Pats about him and yes, there were rumors that they were interested.

At the time people were worried about his lack of top end speed, but as the film shows he can transcend it, in addition to being a solid (trick?) passer and a very good blocker. He feels like a great example of a Belichick player, to be honest.

Edit: I actually came back to add that some on SoSH compared him to Anquan Boldin coming out of college, and there Rudy goes and says it.

That's about the best way you can describe it. They ran some in the past, but they've really ramped it up this year under Hue Jackson and they've needed to without Green for basically four games and Jones/Eifert the whole year. They have 10 carries by receivers and two passes from Sanu so far - by comparison, last year they had 14 carries by receivers and Sanu attempted one pass.

He's actually very similar physically to Anquan Boldin (who was also a high school QB, coincidentally) and can do similar damage as an oversized slot receiver. Boldin has also been very productive on the outside which is why he's been a very good player for 12 years, so if Sanu can remotely approach that I'd be thrilled.

It would be really helpful, particularly for a guy like Sanu who lines up in the slot or outside from clip to clip, if you mentioned where he starts in the formation for each play.  I kept having to watch the clips twice just to see where he was on the field, since it's difficult to see the jersey numbers on some of the all-22 clips.

We will try to include this in the future.
