To kick off the weekend, rumors abound that Bill Foley has agreed to purchase Bournemouth.

A lengthy VAR check on a Brentford goal. Question is does a Toney dummy constitute interference in play? Because he was offside, but didn’t get a touch…

And the ref says yes. No goal.

Newcastle look every bit a top aide. Almiron with a great long diagonal cross that Bruno G perfectly heads back across into the far side netting.

I’m fine with that being offside. He absolutely interferes with the play and makes the defender change his play.

Sorry, still bitter about yesterday. Because if a dummy is being involved in the play, Trinity Rodman’s dummy meant Sophia Smith was no doubt on side…

how does Wembley not have more and better VAR cameras?

Murphy doubles the lead for Newcastle. Bad give away in the back. Brentford killing themselves here.

Wow Havertz at the death of the half. Pulisic has been lively. Will be a huge what if with RLC and his Achilles. Wolves is so poor.

Pulisic scores, lovely link-up with Mount and a clever finish.

Posting online about transferring Cancelo out of my FPL team seemed to have lit a fire under him. Maybe if I do that with Haaland, he scores a double hat trick vs Liverpool

palace-Leeds has been entertaining right up until now when Ayew caught the back of a head in his face. He seems to be in a bad way here.

Of course, he’s on the ground for 5 minutes and they wrap his send, send him back out there.

Dunno if it’s familiarity or just formation, but Adams seems so incisive with vertical balls on the ground at Leeds and we see it so rarely with the USMNT.

More than happy to take 3 from that. Sorely needed. Much better 2nd half from Palace. I never feel confident in points until the game is over anymore.

100%. People online we’re picking this out during the international window, too.

With Leeds, Adams usually gets the ball already facing up field. And there’s a clear system in place so Adams knows which players and which zones to scan for the outlet. And then he consistently makes the right call with an accurate ball to accelerate the counter. He’s so good at this.

With the USMNT, especially this window, Adams was getting the ball facing his own goal. He was having to take several touches to create angles and lanes. Maybe Gregg’s plan asked Adams to invite pressure to open space in center of the pitch? Whatever the case, Adams ended up holding the ball, moving away from pressure, and not finding any easy outlets.

Liverpool set to reprise the 4-3-3-1 (or as Klopp called it a 4-4-2) with 4 attackers at the top. Very ballsy against Arsenal.

Arsenal (4-1-4-1) Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Xhaka; Martinelli; Jesus.
Substitutes: Turner, Tierney, Cedric, Holding, Lokonga, Vieira, Marquinhos, Nelson, Nketiah.

Liverpool (4-2-3-1) Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas; Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Diaz; Nunez.
Substitutes: Kelleher, Gomez, Fabinho, Konate, Milner, Firmino, Elliott, Carvalho, Phillips.

Sigh. Down a goal again. Beautiful stuff by Arsenal. All to easy, tho.

Struggling to understand how Pool didn’t get a penalty. Proximity or not, he blocked a cross with his hand outside of his torso.

The more I watch and the more I read of the reaction, the angrier I get about the handball. There’s no contrary interpretation. That’s a pen.

I’m mostly happy because his kind of dipshittery is much more tolerable from a regular goal scorer.

Martinelli reminds me in some ways of Arjen Robben from yesteryear. Deceptively quick, always pushing the ball forward and running at his man.

Trent needed to let Hendo handle Martinelli, occupy the space in the middle. Surely Martinelli was going to skin the Captain, but much more important to fill the center and limit the runners.

He looked like he was out before he hit the ground. Can't believe they waved him back on so quickly.
earlier today Jordan Ayew was flat on his back with the trainer immobilizing his neck. 5 minutes later he was back on with a bandage wrapped around his head. It’s a joke.
