People will make their jokes but absolutely deserved. Newcastle started timewasting immediately after their first goal. I didn’t even think 5 was enough originally

While my prisms are biased, Newcastle were punished for gamesmanship that is far too common when many others are not - that accommodation for silly time wasting should happen more often - get it out of the game

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen time wasting properly punished.
It's all too rare. When we see the ref letting play go on longer than any of us watching expect it can feel like something is amiss the universe.

On the other hand i saw the Leeds manager point to his watch when the ref blew after 4m55seconds when the number (for injury time) the offical threw up was 5. How do you blow five seconds early? It's just five seconds but it's still dodgy.

If i was a Newcastle fan i would be fucking livid. They could easily have been 0-2 up with the tail end of the match to see out.

It’s not just the time wasting - they have a thing where they won’t blow if it’s a dangerous sequence of play in progress. Ball goes out for a corner at 96:30 or thereabouts - they allow the corner plus the scramble even if it’s past time. If the corner had been cleared the whistle would have been blown immediately.

And they ALWAYS do this.

Leicester didn't look terrible tonight, even with the loss...could have been worse given they have more outgoings that incomings

Utd are going to be fine this season

Rodgers trying to shoot his way out.

“This isn’t the club it was two years ago. That’s the reality. We haven’t brought any new players in, bar one late on, in the last two windows, and that’s a replacement.”

I wonder if he's after the Villa job.

Watching yesterdays match, Leicester looked a little flat, their build up a bit stodgy, laboured. In days of yore if Leicester turned the ball over deep in their own half they would (more often than i'm now seeing) find a good out ball and make a speedy counter, often ending up with Vardy scoring with his first or second touch. I was looking for that yesterday, this being the first time i've watched Leicester in a while. They couldn't get behind Utd and they're not good enough to play through them. They've got some decent players, but it's all a bit passive. I dunno what kind of player Rodgers was after, if he was to get some money. I was following the last hour of the window on Sky and Talksport half expecting a last minute deal for The Foxes but nothing was mentioned, not even a wee rumour, nowt.

The Slums of Shaolin
Motm yesterday was United’s away fans. Singing “your wife is a grass, your wife is a grass, Jaime vardy, your wife is a grass”

Followed by every Rooney song they could think of.
