My internet is driving me up the wall

So I'm having a bunch of issues with my shitty internet.

It's dropping quite a bit, giving me a bunch of "resolving host" issue.

I've changed my DNS servers to Google's which helped significantly and I've optimized the wifi channel my router uses, but it hasn't cleared up the issue, I'm still getting "resolving host" periodically.

Is there anything else I can do on my end?

What provider?  I switched from Verizon dial-up to Comcast "high-speed" years ago and have pretty much all the issues you describe.

Er, shit man.  I got nothing then.  I just blame all my connectivity and speed issues on Comcast and look forward to the day when I switch to another provider.

I may look to upgrade my router. Lot of shit trying to connect at the same time and my it may be time to get a stronger router to handle all of them.

Are all these issues via wifi ? Do you have any computer connected to your router via ethernet and does it exhibit the same issues ? What is your current router ?
Yes, just wifi. Haven't had these issues when connected via ethernet and the wifi isn't as spotty when I'm trying to use my laptop and other devices in the same room at the same time.

Currently have an airport express and two of the smaller ones as network extenders

ahh your issues certainly sound like weak wifi, but alas you're in the Apple world which I eschew. One thing to remember: even if you improve your router signal, the experience with an older receiving device with only g band (2.4 Ghz) and a crummy antenna won't change much.

My mom is taking the modem in to be replaced. The guy from optimum said it should have been replaced years ago. Not sure if that'll fix anything but I can't imagine it getting worse.
