This has been a long day. I just watched some 2008 Finals highlights, and I had forgotten just how clutch Eddie House and James Posey were in closing out the Lakers. It's time for Hauser and Pritchard to step up, make some big shots, and become Celtics legends.

The loss on Friday really ruined what should have been a glorious weekend.

My life has kind of sucked lately so hoping the C's can hoist number 18 tonight. LFG!

House was just 1-5 from 3 in the closeout game, but Posey was 3-3 and Ray was 7-9. Ray was almost unplayable offensively against Cleveland (.328 from the field and .167 from 3) but was solid in the rest of the EC playoffs and was sublime in the finals (22-42 from 3, 52.4%).

You're right, I was watching the Game 4 comeback where the C's took a 3-1 lead. Posey hit 4 3's and House hit 2 during the big comeback from 24 down.

I'm in Boston for a company leadership retreat, and already about 3/4 hammered from the "team-building" Boston Harbor booze cruise. Seeing the Garden and the giant Cs banner at the Boston Harbor Hotel from the water got me going (as if I needed it). Meeting up with a few colleagues at a local watering hole. Let's do this.

Not going to lie, I’m truly shocked at that. I don’t buy the no minutes restriction, but playing any real minutes is crazy. I expected him to be some sort of final rebound option in some crazy game winning scenario.

Leon Powe in the building and Mike Gorman on the pregame. Feeling good about tonight.

Grant Williams lmao
My first reaction too. I'd rather see Rob or Smart. Grant being at this game is just funny.

The only clip I can find of Joe regarding KP's availability is him saying that "he'll play," but there are a million tweets saying there's no minutes restriction. Did Joe actually say that there is no limit or no minutes restriction? Or did Joe just say that he's gonna play, and everyone is making the logical leap?

Playing a damaged KP isn't making me feel great about tonight. The Celtics need to get back to playing better defense.

I have a friend in the building. He said he's excited, I think the crowd will give the team and the refs what they need.

Pritch doing his usual pregame at full speed. He’ll need a shower before tipoff. Shot looks really good. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Decided to keep on working tonight straight through to 8:30 because realistically there's nothing else productive I'm going to do with my time if I have nothing to focus on.

Optimism? High.

I'm getting my special chills I get, back of my head, like I stepped into an ice cold shower waterfalling, cascading like a slide down the side of my head. They don't stop, but they do freeze me a bit in anticipation, make my eyes water a bit for the power of the moment, the hunger of the drive's hunt. KG used to talk about he felt that way when he saw the Garden floor during the playoffs in 2008. They started back in December, for some reason.

I tend to get them when I can feel something special. It's beyond the power of intuition, it's that power of just knowing in advance, like a Potterian scar that indicates something big is about to happen. Usually the signal and subsequent message of the event unfolding is pretty direct and it's always about sports. I can't explain it. My body just knows. Didn't have any of this the other night by contrast.

I’m not sure what’s funnier—that Brad Marchand doesn’t need to be identified as a Bruin, but Gryz and the head freakin’ coach do, or that Millyz is considered a celebrity.
Do not know who Millyz is. Interesting that Grant Williams is here. Who is he rooting for?

The cradle of the game.
Will interesting to see if JM tries to remain focused and deliberate from the tip, running the offense, playing conservative D and conserving energy. Or he lets the boys play.
