Durant was a FA and chose what a lot of people would have done. I would have loved him on the Celtics but let's face it he made the right decision for himself.
You're right but when he went on the BS podcast and said the thought of a title didn't even occur to him as any part of the decision, I walked away from everything Durant. He joined the greatest regular season team in history, a team one ball whack away from two straight championships, and the thought of a title didn't even enter his mind?

Come on.

Is Tristan Thompson hurt? I realize he had a tough first half, but he's only played 22 minutes, and they could desperately use exactly what he brings to the floor.
Who can he guard on the warriors? Maybe Zaza, but Mcgee and Zaza ate him for lunch today and he adds nearly nothing on offense

Is there a separate thread for NBA fans and not GS fanboys? Because between Ale's blind homerism and DeJesus' bannable comment (and hatred of the Cavs, I'm assuming)... Even SoSH game threads are better than this. Start a GS thread if you want.

Can't we all get back to hating on Mark Jackson as one group?

I am loving the Warriors play. It's historic, fun and unbelievable all at the same time. I just wish that we could appreciate it for what it's worth and not moan and complain when a call goes against them or someone compliments the Cavs
Only ones moaning and complaining are you and Lebron James.

Yes I agree that is a BS comment on the BS podcast. Still doesn't swing me away from being a fan of his.

Well, he wasn't helping there either. Just a dud game all around for him.
He hasn't even played. He played 22 minutes, had 4 rebounds, only took and missed 3 shots, and had 1 turnover. If that's enough of a sample size to pin him to the bench for the rest of the game, so they can play guys like Jefferson and Deron Williams, then so be it. I just don't think you give up on arguably one of the four most important players on your team 20 minutes into game 1 of the finals for a couple of corpses, who also provide virtually nothing on offense and even less on defense and on the boards.

That was so slick, Curry to Durant, could well be the meme of the whole series.

If you are the Cavs, you have to look for ways to slow the pace down in game two. The Warriors are lethal in transition so any way to keep them from running out will give them more of a chance.

Golden State has 19 more field goal attempts than Cleveland. You simply cannot beat Golden State if you let them take 20 more shots from the field than you.

Maybe the games are so late so the ET viewers don't have to see the garbage time?

LeBron played 40 minutes tonight and the most rest he got was in garbage time. The most minutes on Golden State was for Durant at 37. In a close game, its entirely possible that LeBron will, indeed, play more than 45 minutes.

Everyone not named Lebron combined for 12 turnovers and 7 assists for Cleveland. Lebron had 8 assists and 8 turnovers.

About what I expected; Cleveland has a ton of holes on defense and a team with as many weapons as GS that also moves the ball that well is going to shred them. Only way Cleveland can win this series is if their Big 3 can sustain hot streaks for games at a time and GS gets really sloppy with the ball.

Winning had nothing to do with it; it was because he wanted to invest in Silicon Valley, something you can clearly only do when you play basketball in California.

I like that we got some great JaVale McGee minutes in the first half--and then never saw him again.

Are you suggesting Cleveland is in the central time zone?
No I'm suggesting that the 76% of the people of the U.S. who live in the eastern and central time zones continuously get needlessly screwed by the NBA and MLB by Sunday playoff game times in favor of the 24% who live in the west.

Cleveland did play decent defense at times last night but seemed to give up an offensive rebound every time they did. If they can't clean the defensive glass or protect the ball better than that they have no shot.

GSW is too good defensively for Lebron to do his drive, skip the layup and throw a blind pass to the 3 point line. They got a bunch of steals off anticipating the passing lanes.

Durant and Curry were terrific last night.

Somewhere
The Warriors - Kerr and maybe a handful of players excepted - are a terrific villain. More fun to root against when they look mortal, however. I hope people can appreciate how satisfying 2007 must have been for 99% of Americans (not me, I took a whole pile of shit there) though.

The best way to stop transition is to make baskets. The second best way is to stop turning the ball over.

I think there will be a couple of games that CLE puts these two together and they will probably win the close ones, but GS will run away with the rest of the series.

Golden State has played 1 game in the last 12 days. That's pretty nuts. They will certainly not be even remotely tired the rest of the way.
