That's what she said.
I edited this subject to talk about League Pass as well.

The Raining Js guys on the Locked on Podcast asked it the other day.

Who are your top five league pass teams?
If you can only have the "pick five" package who would you pick five be?
We would all chose the Celts, so lets take them out. Boston folks would get them anyways, but out-of-towners like myself would not and would have to make them one of the five.

And really, GSW will be on every night nationally pretty much, so I personally wouldn't include them. So you get Boston and Golden State as no brainers/not included. Who are your top five to watch 2016/2017

1-OKC
2-Portland
3-Minnesota
4-New Orleans - AD too good not to watch
5-Spurs - Kawhi bump wins it

5 is a tough choice.
Phoenix for Bledsoe and Booker?
Philly for Ben Simmons?
Houston to see if Harden passes to Anderson and Gordon?
Kings for Boogie?
MIlwaukee to see the Greek Freak PG experimenter? They may be fun.
Chicago to see how Rondo, Butler and Wade play with only one ball?
Knicks for Kristaps and that mess of what they threw together?
Utah? Well, they are the hype team this upcoming season...
Clippers to see Paul and Blake kill each other?

The last pick is a tough one...

Minnesota, Utah and Philly seem like no brainers to me. Also I'm on the East Coast so I'm probably not going to pick anyone starting as late as the West Coast teams (Even Utah is late for my old bones.) Milwaukee, the Knicks and Chicago are all in my next group maybe with the OKC but really only the three I listed and the Celts would be more than enough for me along with all of the GSW games.

I want the Nets to ring up all of the losses but I think they have to be the winner for team you'd least like on your Leage Pass.

I'm in San Diego, so BOS would be an auto pick for me. GSW too.

This is harder than I initially thought it would be. My top 5 would probably be:

1. MIN- Really exciting young team, I want to see if they're ready to make the leap.
2. POR- Lillard is highly entertaining. Any home game is a must watch
3. OKC- should be fun to watch Russ put them on his back
4. LAC- Say what you want about them, but they're fun to watch when they're clicking.
5. BKL- Just to keep an eye on the pick

Close calls:
SAS- If I didn't want to watch BKL all season, this would be my 5th pick. They're fun to watch if you appreciate team basketball.
DET- Drummond and they should continue to get better
CLE- To keep an eye on the East's best team, but I think we know who they are.
PHI- They still don't have all of the right pieces, but they'll be better and I want to see Simmons play in the NBA.

where the darn libs live
I live in DC, so the Celtics are an auto-pick. But I'm only picking 4 other teams (because I WILL be picking only 4 other teams)...

1. Boston
2. Portland (love that team, love the energy, plus they play in an entertaining division)
3. Philly (Based God Hinkie demands it)
4. Minnesota (so much god damn raw talent)
5. OKC (Because Russ is my favorite non-Celtic and I adore his style of play)

May end up changing some choices before the season starts, but for now this is my five-spot.

You guys actually want to watch Philly games? I get that they'll be better and the young guys are interesting, but that mismatched roster is going to put on some ugly performances.

1. Golden State - they only have 28 national games. That leaves 54 others
2. Minnesota - self-explanatory
3. OKC - Russ
4. Utah - A roster only behind Minnesota in its enticing youth
5. Indiana - This team has some weird pieces but I love Paul George and am eager to see how Turner develops and how Teague/Ellis coexist. Also I needed an Eastern conference team

Honorable mentions

Portland - I can't justify two Pacific time zone teams
Detroit - would've made it on roster alone, but the intentional fouling changes didn't go far enough, so any team with Drummond is out
Houston - D'antoni factor. Also losing Howard helps the watchability. But ultimately I'm not confident enough that D'antoni's system can make Harden's game watchable

They got rid of the pick-5 League Pass before the start of the 2015-16 season. Choices are now 1 team or all teams. I think this thread is more about the exercise of who you'd want to watch outside the Cs.

In no order: Utah, Minnesota, OKC, San Antonio, and Toronto

If Boston/GS are off table, my five would be

Minnesota
OKC
Portland
Milwaukee
Orlando

Detroit is a near miss.
Chicago will be fun to check in on because I think that roster is terribly constructed.
Utah would make my list with a different coach or style of play. So slow.

There will be some FUN games and some train wrecks.
There's a TONNE of passing on the team, and Brown preaches a ball movement Spurs type offense, and actually the Sixers had one of the better expected FG%, ie based on the shots taken, even with all their lack of point guards and spacing suck last year. It's just the talent was so bad they couldn't make the shots.

I think they could be a lot of fun to watch, but I suspect next year will be better than this, as I say unless you enjoy and occasional car wreck. They could be the Forest Gump chocolate box of teams this year.

The updated NBA 16-17 iPhone app is garbage. Garbage.

First off, they don't show preseason games. I subscribe for the highest package available through DirecTV which has the full League Pass online access.

Box scores are horrible and scroll up and down while trying to move right and left. The highlighted part of the box score is the players head shot. Who needs a head shot?

The Apple TV app is garbage so far too. It just locks up on me with a white bar on the screen.

The video highlights are a joke. You scroll down find a highlight, select it, then scroll up to view it.

It is a horrible user interface.

So, what else do you use to look at stats from the iPhone? If they don't fix the NBA app, I'll be downloading everything else and trying.

To the app developers, besides my review on just this in iTunes, go look at MLB At Bat to see how it's done.

I'm pissed off that I couldn't watch the Cs game. I might cancel and go illegal. Ball streams was better but they are no more.

Anyone know what's going on with League Pass on Directv? I went to order it tonight and the site says they don't have it available yet and they're "working on it." What's the issue?

It was the same thing with the NHL Center Ice. It wasn't available to order until a day or two before the season started.

Just became available to purchase on Directv but there's no option to follow just one team. Does Directv not offer this option?

I tried to order it online via Time Warner's website. It didn't work. Next step is to try on my cable box. I'm like, "Time Warner, please take my money." Time Warner responds, "We cannot process that request."

I have Verizon FIOS. Through their website it says $210. Through NBA.com it says $199.99 (or 5 payments of $44.99).

NBA.com shows the Team Stream for $120 (or 5 of $26.99)---will that team stream then allow me to watch on my TV through Verizon FIOS?

Nervous because that option isn't showing up on Verizon's site.

I just downloaded the NBA app in hopes of watching the C's games this year and was horrified by the Privacy Policy. It looks like they can collect anything and do anything with it. Am I just sounding like an old guy? Or is this something I should be worried about? Hell, I'm probably already giving information out, but that Policy seems insane.

Also, there's no free preview this year for some reason.
I had the free preview last night although in standard definition (7-10:30 Et time slot)
I have Comcast

It doesn't show games that are on national tv (ESPN TNT and NBA tv) afaik

The streaming quality was pretty terrible last night on both iPhone/Chromecast and ps4. I wish they'd fix this

A Lost Time
I goofed up. My Fios system has to sets of stations nominally dedicated to NBA pass and I was looking at the first one which wasn't showing anything.

I found the latter andit worked. Still non-HD.
