Maybe they are high on Musa. He's still quite young still and was a 1st round quality prospect in 2018, and if you're in a rebuild I think you'd rather take the shot on a guy who might be a scorer than a tough defender who isn't going to do much on offense. Brown is a good fit off the bench for a team with it's scoring set, for the Pistons he's not doing much. Musa is a shot at finding a bucket getter.I don’t get that from the Piston’s POV except as a precursor to another move. I think it’s a Raptors second rounder. If it’s Detroit’s own it’s more defensible, but Brown was showing some promise as a tough defender last year, the type of cheap, versatile culture guy that a rebuilding team should want. I have a soft spot for him as a tough local kid, so it’s annoying to see him headed to the Nets.
