The Mavs look like they can win this game tonight...77-74 after 3rd quarter. Dirk isn´t playing great, it´s still a team effort, because the Spurs are really limiting him...I wonder if he has another 40p. game in the tank.

Rewound a couple minutes. It was a foul on Dalembert v. Duncan but it was a very late call. Ref waited to see Duncan lose the ball first.

A Lost Time
Every time I see the Spurs, they seem as if they play the sport one level higher than the rest. The last few plays they executed were fantastic and produced great shots. I am getting convinced that the individual talent isn't as good as the top of the league, but their coaching and team cohesion is so much better.

Manu knew it too. 1.7 seconds is more time than you think. Carter didn't have to shoot on the catch.

I was really wrong on the Mavs.  They have shown up for this series and made it an amazing one.  This first round rocks so fucking much.  I mean, the excavated corpse of Vince Carter just hit a three that has the improbable Dallas Mavs (Dirk, Monta and a bunch of warm bodies) up in a series versus the Spurs.  Whodathunkit?

I have no idea which team is coming out of either conference.

This is true for the West, but Miami is overwhelming favorites to come out of the East currently, even if they look weaker than the last two years.

Wouldn't it be something if all the top teams in the West get bounced?  OKC and Houston are in trouble.  San Antonio is behind.  And while the Clips are ahead, I think that series is still going to go seven.

Z-Bo might be the only star-level player who I would buy is COMPLETELY happy to be cheering on the sidelines.

What a great game between OKC and Memphis.  The refs are letting them play.  I love it.
They are letting Tony fucking Allen play, which means KD is not.

Reggie Jackson on the Uconn school of clock management.

don't understand at all having Perkins in or anyone covering Gasol, but it works out.  So many amazing first round series this year both in nba and nhl

Aside from certain ownership issues, the NBA is putting out damn fine product this spring.  What a great game.  More to come tomorrow.

Reggie Jackson with the game of his life (career high 32), bailing out a horrendous Durant. You can't play a game like he just did in what is essentially a must-win game and be the MVP, I hate so much that it is based on the regular season when the playoffs each year make it thoroughly obvious who the actual MVP is.

In defense of Durant, he made a very mature move by playing smart down the stretch. Durant knew he didn't have it going on today, that Memphis was going to react to him, so instead of jacking up contested shots, he absorbed the defense, and cleared the lane for a hot hand in Jackson to have the game of his life. He only took 6 shots in the 4th quarter and overtime, and his team won despite his rough night. I can't but too much blame on him.

I love Kevin Durant, but MVPs can't play like that in must-win games, no matter who is guarding them. He was 1-15 in the half court offense.

Jackson gave him fresh life by letting them bring it back to OKC tied at 2, KD needs to pick it up decidedly for the rest of the series.
