Mickey can really jump. Don't remember the last Celtic that could get in the air like that. Dee Brown maybe but that was a different kind of thing.
How quickly we forget gerald green

I don't think I ever saw him play for the Celtics. I lived out of market and had Satellite radio to listen to the games. The highlight of those years was an 8 or 9 game winning streak with Ricky Davis.

I just love this rookie class. I love the guys on top like Towns, Okafor and Mudiay, I like the mid-round guys like Montrez Harrell and Hunter. I think this is going to be a great year for this class.
I just watched the first half of tonight's game and thought if there are 27 guys better than hunter in this draft then it is going down as the best draft of all time.

in other news, Rozier looks like he could jump out of the building.

Edit: in the 3rd quarter and impressed by how fast Rozier is

Truly one of the greatest dunkers of all time. The 2010 Russia Cup dunk contest between Green and James White is must watch.

Very impressive that Green was able to come back to the NBA and find a nice role after spending two years in Russia. He's still just 29.

Rotten Apple
Sweet block by Amir on Melo.

Szczerbiak is as annoying a broadcaster as he was a player. Never shuts up and says nothing.

Sullinger looks awful. Never seen him as bad as he's been this preseason.
And no sooner do I say thins than he goes off and scores the next ten Celtic points, then takes a rebound the length of the court and feeds Lee for a hoop.

Things no one has ever said until tonight: "I always thought Walter McCarty could have been a Hall of Fame defender..." T.Heinsohn

Knicks played their starters late into the 4th, but C's bench (incl. Rozier, Hunter, Young) iced it.

Also, Marcus looked very much the PG: 7 points, 9 assists in 26 minutes, and he showed a command of the offense that we never saw from him last year.

Getting very excited about this season.

After you watch Green and James Flight White from 2010 go watch David Lee play for the Celtics.......and try to imagine Lee beating White in the McDonald's HS All-American Game Dunk Contest in 2002(?). That is exactly what happened back when Lee has sick hops. He reminds me of Raef LaFrentz who was also a crazy athlete in college only to become grounded with age and injury only to ride out into the sunset with the Celtics.

I have said it before and will say it again.  If Lee is healthy, he is going to quickly become a fan favorite in Boston.  We all know his flaws but the guy's low-post game can still be very good and the fact that he can finish around the rim with either hand makes him tough to defend.  If he somehow regains his mid-range game, he is going to be a huge asset for the C's.

David Lee's curse isn't just age and grounding.  Its that he was born about 20 years too late into a era where, even with an array of solid to spectacular low post skills, you aren't of much value if you aren't a stretch four.
