Loved him as a college player but he doesn’t have the skill set to overcome his physical disadvantages at the NBA level. He’s really been exposed this week.
I agree with your assessment.

He's from Orlando and the Magic picked him in the 2nd round. Didn't realize he was traded to the Clippers until this week when I didn't see him on Orlando's SL roster.

Not sure what kind of money comes with a round 2 selection, or what his family situation is, but if he showed a little more with another season at Ohio he might have improved his stock in spite of his physical disadvantages.

Preston got two guaranteed years and will be one of the higher paid G-League players. :)

Looks like $1m this year, $1.5m the following. Hope he’s frugal for his well being.

Love LVSL but the end of this week and all of the false accolades can’t end soon enough. “There’s Lorenzo Romar, a sensational player in the NBA and now a long time college coach.” Yeah, real sensational.....started 64 games for a 30-win Warrior team, bounced around a little and was out of the league at 26.

If anyone is paying attention the Wolves need to win by 8 or more to pass Sacramento into the 2nd slot. They are currently up 4 against a scrappy Sixer team tonight with about 6 min to go.

Edit: And just like that the Sixers go on a 10-0 run.

Not on right now, but I was impressed by Luka Garza the other night. It’s not like he’s a diamond in the rough — his upside is a bigger Daniel Theis, and he’s not assured of realizing it — but I found myself wishing the C’s had bought a 2nd rounder and taken a flier on the kid.

Detroit was my favorite non-Celtics SL team to watch, super fun.

Announcers were saying he'd dropped some weight to improve his quickness, obviously his biggest weakness. He looked in my brief viewing like he might have gotten himself into a position where he could be a functional rotation big. I doubt he'll ever have Theis' athletic ability though, which was underrated imo.

Weird ending to Pels/Ws game: Pels down 1, Naji Marshall goes up for a game winning layup with a second left, Kuminga blocks it but is called for goaltending. Refs review it … and it’s clear Kuminga gets it clean, on the way up, before it hits the backboard. So they overturn the call and credit Kuminga with the block … but then give the Pels two points anyway cos Murphy had put back the shot after the whistle. Pels win.

But: Pels actually lose, cos they needed to win by 11 to face the Celtics in the Finals. Instead the Kings get the nod.

Great games by both Murphy and Kuminga.

He still has a long long way to go before he reaches that level. I don’t see it at all with him.

I see much more of a Kanter archetype with Garza. The original getting vet minimum salary shows the limits of that profile today…

Cam Thomas...

College stats - 23/3.4/1.4 on 41% shooting & 1.7 TO.

Summer League stats - 27/1.8/2.0 on 42% shooting & 3.8 TO.

Seems kinda like an "he is what we thought he was" guy. But yeah, there's some guys who were drafted ahead of him who probably shouldn't have been.

Cam has what looks like some legit NBA skills......not only shooting but creating his shot. There were some drafted ahead of him who don’t even have a legit NBA skill. I can’t hate that pick at all.

Yeah, no hate. My point is more like there's nothing really that happened in SL that has changed my projection of him.

He was also 2nd in college basketball last year in free throw attempts & was 2nd in Summer League, too (behind Bol Bol).

Wasn't the knock on Cam having to do with maturity/personal issues?

I assumed it was that he was a no-pass/no-defense player, but I guess those could be 2 sides of the same coin.

Why do Cade and Suggs need to be wearing masks when sitting next to each other during an interview so the closed caption cannot pick up their words......but can square up on the floor defending one another while breathing, sweating, and touching one another? Make it make sense Silver. Just make it make sense.

Too many possibilities.
This may be local mandates rather then anything having to do with Silver. Or… when they are playing it is immunized tested individuals in a large well ventilated area vs. being in a small enclosed area filled with people with ? Immunization or testing status.
Not enough information to say.
