Lakers trade Thomas Bryant to Denver for 3-point shooter Davon Reed. They have to be looking to rid themselves of Schroder or Beverly next, right?

Have we discussed the Poeltl deal? What is up with Toronto? They trying to compete this year or do they just like Poeltl?
Toronto was hypothesized as one of the few teams who could afford to pay Poeltl what he would want / get in free agency, and as such it makes for them to acquire him now and kick the tires before making that offer. They also drafted him and he played there his first 2 years in the league, so they have plenty of familiarity. I would be very surprised if he doesn't re-sign there.

Hard to know if Crowder is any good still since he hasn't played all year. Is he really better than Matthews or Allen? Not sure he moves the needle much.
Yup, and he's only been a good 3 point shooter once in the last 5 years. His 3p% since leaving the Celtics: .323, .331, .343, .389, .348.

around the way
It's not even 1:00 yet and he's already made a trade, so no, I don't think he took the day off.
A buddy of mine lost his shit last year that we didn't bring in Drummond at the deadline. And when we were losing in game 6 of the finals, all I could think about was "what we need is someone who can't cover anyone under 260 pounds."

Fans are silly.

Thanks for this. I'm a little weary of the Crowder mythology.
The last few times I saw him on tv, he was on ok shooter who made up for declining athleticism with borderline dirty play followed by a lot of "who me" and testosterone posturing. Draymondian dark arts with one-tenrh the skills.

Not a great ROI for a #2 overall pick, generally speaking, but under the current circumstances, actually a good move. And that draft was kind of a mess at the top. Good for the rest of the league that they fumbled it.
The Marvin Bagley comps are becoming a little too eerily spot on.

I saw the Warriors save 131M over the next 2 years in salary/lux tax if they trade Wiseman. He can’t get on the court yet, major injury concerns…. He’s gone for sure.

That was a typo. I meant Bey is a good fit for the Warriors.

Completely agree that they screwed up the #2 pick. I've read a bit about how Kerr has committed coaching malpractice in how he developed and schemes for Wiseman.

It annoys me that Danny chose possible future performance over present by leaving Bey on the board for Nesmith. One more rotation player last year and they might have had enough left in the tank to win. Too bad Boston couldn't have found a way to get him from Detroit. Why the Pistons would want Wiseman enough to send out Bey is a mystery.
It kills me that Halliburton went at 12 and we couldn't jump up to get him. He would have been a force with the Jays.

Sorry, I had the wrong info in my 1st attempt, this should be right:

76ers get - Jalen McDaniels, Knicks '24 2nd (from Hornets), & Blazers '29 2nd
Blazers get - Mathisse Thybulle
Hornets get - Svi Mykhailiuk & their own '23 2nd round pick (best of 3 options, but it will be theirs over the Hawks or Nets)

76ers give up - Thybulle & '23 Hornets 2nd
Blazers give up - Mykhailiuk who they just got in the Josh Hart trade & their '29 2nd
Hornets give up - McDaniels & the Knicks '24 2nd

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-trade-deadline-matisse-thybulle-to-blazers-jalen-mcdaniels-to-76ers-in-three-way-deal-per-reports/

Thybulle is an RFA after this season, the other 2 are UFAs.

Someone is going to unlock Thybulle at some point as a semi-competent offensive player, which will make him VERY valuable. As a Celtics fan, I'm thrilled that the Sixers ran out of patience.

If the C's are done, I wish they'd leak that to somebody, so I wouldn't have keep checking Twitter every two minutes.

Collins to GS is a great get if that is what it turns out to be! Suspect salary won't quite get to that level

IF you're wondering what the market for Pritchard was, Hyland's deal is probably informative

I think Hyland’s upside makes his return greater. This doesn’t bode well for Pritchard today. Poor kid.
I think it evens out, I think teams have adjusted his ceiling down, and being a PITA in the lockerroom and not making any effort on D when fighting for a role off the bench for the 1 seed sours it some. I think teams see him and PP as guys who if you're lucky are bench scorers, Hyland is younger, but Pritchard is arguably better and he tries.
