Yeah, I was just coming here to post that. Is that something the referees could have overturned? That was a clear travel on that Duke buzzer beater, yeah? Up and down before he released the shot.
Are you referring to the one with 1:20 left? If so, Duke would've had less than a second on the shot clock. I don't think there's any kind of conspiracy, but saying it handed UVA an extra possession (or comparing it to Allen possibly traveling) is a little disingenuous.Well the refs completely fucked up the out of bounds even after reviewing it, giving uva an extra possession, so what the fuck ever
This was the correct call anyway, by the time the ball touched anything out of bounds, the shot clock had expired. Are you referring to the one with 1:20 left? You can insert whoever is the new #1 each week into this statement.Wonder how long Villanova will remain at #1. They look good, but, are they really a #1 team?
They could have just as easily called a foul on the penetration, travel prior to the shot, and travel from landing prior to releasing the shot. The whistle isn't going to be blown on a final possession shot at the buzzer unless it is clear and blatant in real time.....having it needed to be replayed in slo-motion to see a violation occurred pretty much sums that up. It was officiated properly imo.the play broken down beautifully. Duke can always count on the officials.
Courtside seats at or near midcourt are the best. You get a pure feel for the size, athleticism, and speed of the players. Watching on tv from a camera at that angle.....not so much. Was the entire game shown from that angle? The replay was on UK TV here this afternoon, and I had it on in the background; I noticed they were going to that ground-level camera a lot, but I didn't think it was always there. (It did make me muse that courtside seats aren't all they're cracked up to be.)
he did this versus UNC, too. If he doesn't have the ball he dogs it, he gets beaten down the court, etc. I've seen him play like parts of four games, he can score, but does nothing else. he's a skinnier Melo without the post-up game (this isn't a bad thing, but that's the best comp I could come up with)He has played a crap game but you have to remember he is dog tired, hasn't gotten any rest the last several games
I think this is spot on. He played horribly today but when he's on - which is most games - he's far more than a scorer. His shot-blocking and defence in general is extraordinary. He rebounds well, especially on the offensive end. He's been more consistent this year than Simmons. It's just hard to see all that on the heels of his worst game of the year.Well Ingram has played 38+ minutes in 7 out of their last 8 games so it wasn't just this week. I don't see the sulkiness, I do see him force it from time to time. He is not a player without flaws. I think he is gonna be a darn good pro, with a floor of say Tayshaun Prince and a ceiling significantly higher. YMMV
He was referencing a time when Gottlieb, as a player at Okla St in 99, played the first 8 minutes of the game with his shorts on backwards! Here's the link to the article and clip of the '99 KU - OKS game Props to Old Roy for calling him out and scoring a first class zinger! This was Williams’ response to Gottlieb: “You have no freakin’ idea what you’re talking about.”
After that Williams took it to another level.
“That’s the guy,” Williams said, “that said that (who) couldn’t put his damn pants on the right way when he was playing at Oklahoma State.”
Gottlieb is a weird dude. I like the fact that he's not afraid to be critical, but he probably takes it a bit too far, which is somewhat understandable, as he has to fill time on his radio show that no one hears. There's a nice middle ground to being buddy-buddy with head coaches and being actively despised by two all-time greats. The Boeheim-Gottlieb feud dates back quite some time. Gottlieb was a player at Notre Dame for a short amount of time, until he was caught stealing his roommates credit cards and booted from the program. After Gottlieb got the gig at ESPN, he called out Big East teams for having “fraudulent” schedules. Boeheim came back at Gottlieb, saying that the only type of fraud he knew about dealt with credit cards.
I agree with this. I have watched pretty much every Duke game and I really haven't seen Ingram sulk or "dog it". I have seen him jog back on D but I think that's more due to the fact that there are only 6 rotation players and that he's one of the 2 people the offense goes through every single time. (Grayson Allen being the other).Well Ingram has played 38+ minutes in 7 out of their last 8 games so it wasn't just this week. I don't see the sulkiness, I do see him force it from time to time. He is not a player without flaws. I think he is gonna be a darn good pro, with a floor of say Tayshaun Prince and a ceiling significantly higher. YMMV
Um, mediocre at best coaching? Also, something is seriously wrong with Maryland, especially Melo. That team is fading
First time in my 52 years that my Bulldogs have made the tournament!Yale is the best team in New England and maybe only one to make ncaas?
