I'll explain how Wisconsin keeps it close.  The frontcourt of Wisconsin is extremely versatile.  Kaminsky, Dekker, and Hayes can all play very well inside and outside.  If they are to keep this close, Gasser and Koenig need to play pick and roll with Kaminsky and Dekker in order to get WCS/Towns/Johnson on the move.  Gasser are Koenig are good 3-pt shooters so we'll see how Cal handles them.  Do they go over the top of the screen and risk Kaminsky or Dekker rolling to the basket or do they go under and leave Gasser/Koenig open for a 3?  Also, whoever of FK and SD that isn't involved in the P/R will have an easier time of posting up while the bigs of UK can't set their feet and get you off the block. Hayes can be used as a chess piece of sorts as he'll have a slower Lyles on him and can take him off the dribble or run him off some screens.

They'll have to knock down shots at a similar clip as yesterday.  Dekker is playing right now like a 1st team AA.  With him and Kaminsky playing like they did against Arizona, they have a fighting chance.  But, others will have to step up and knock down shots when they get the chance and they won't have many chances.  FK and SD took 31 of the 45 FGA yesterday so even though chances will be slim players like Hayes, Gasser, Koenig need to be extremely focused and ready to go.

Defensively, they need to build walls and not let the Harrisons and Ulies abuse them like Arizona did yesterday.  You have to make UK beat you over the top with the 3-point shot. If I were Bo Ryan, I'd play a packed in 2-3 zone.

Thank you for that.  That's good analysis Red.  I think that's about right, and the way Wisconsin could get it done.  I'm not so sure I like their chances of executing it against Kentucky, but I think that's a fair game plan for a team without a couple of guards that can win off the dribble.

Free throws going to cost Michigan State, or Louisville here.

Watching online and the site updates the score live ON SCREEN even though the stream hasn't reached that point yet.

Good work NCAA.

Timeout would have been useful there. Serves Michigan State for making the last thirty seconds unwatchable with all the timeouts.

Big Ten on. 4-year Final Four Streak; 5 appearances by 4 different schools. 14 appearances since 2000, most by any conference.

I don't hate Mich State. I'm ok with that win. But I did have Louisville +2 and that loss stings. Stupid free throw.

I do hate MSU, but I had them -2. Funny things.

LOL. Solid win by you, congrats. I almost took Mich St -3.5 for the second half. I should have. It almost was a middle, but at least I would have hedged a bit.

Just imagine if you took UConn instead of Rutgers. The B1G would lock down college hoops

OK, there's 20 seconds left and you're down 4.

Do you:

A.) Shoot a quick 3?
B.) Drive to the basket and try for a layup?
C.) Waste 10 seconds and then turn the ball over?

One could have made a lot of money just betting on MSU in the tournament over the years. They've covered every game this year again, despite being a favorite twice over higher seeds.

Good Tyus and quiet Pangos, yet game is tied. Looks good for Zags. They need to be smarter in the 2nd half, and looks like Wesley already is.

Keep feeding Wiltjer.
