My basically uninformed opinion is MSU beats Duke. Duke has a ton of talent but I think they are mistake prone and will be beat by a well-coached team that can at least hang with them athletically.

Hill treated it like there was only 0.6 left. Caught in his palms then pushed it towards the hoop rather than taking time.

5 for Houston is wearing like, legit Stockton-length shorts. Once you notice it you can’t stop looking.

They’re coming back, saw a lot of guys this year wearing them and apparently high school kids are all in. Losing a dribble in the crotch no longer a thing.

I know more guys are wearing shorts above the knee, but his are extra short, similar to the old shorts guys used to wear. It’s a cool trend.

Yea just looked and his really are short ha. I like the shorter look but maybe those a bit too much.

As long as we don’t go back to the Kerry Kittles one sock up one one sock down bullshit it’s all good.

Duke has to get through someone they have already lost to this year (or TT) before they get to MSU ...

UNC followed the same script 2 years ago. Could have lost every game after the 1st Round.
Pretty true.

2nd round they were down 5 with 3:30 to play and tied with 1:45 to play, ended up winning by 6 after a few missed shots by Arkansas and some made FTs on their part.

Sweet 16 they pretty much cruised against Butler, up 16 at the half and winning by 12 without being threatened.

Then they beat Kentucky by 2 in the regional final - this one was tied with 10 seconds to play, UNC scored near the buzzer to win.

In the national semifinal, they beat Oregon by 1.

Then in the title they beat Gonzaga by 6 in a game that was tied with < 2 minutes to play.

So combined they won their last 5 games by 27 games.

Both of UConn's championships this century also had a ton of close calls, including going to overtime once in the round of 64, which I believe is unprecedented for a champion.

Grant Hill sucks as an announcer. Going into each of the first three media timeouts (under 16, 12, 8) he goes into the break saying “Virginia Tech in control”. First of all, find a new line. Second of all, they led by 4, 2, and 1 going into those timeouts. Yes Grant, they were in complete control.

The best part of Hill's broadcast were the replays of his alley-oop from Hurley following Zion's two-handed throwdown.

There's a bit of a difference between out-executing teams in the final four minutes of games and surviving tip-ins and shots to tie/win games that do everything but go in. Nobody had the ball and a chance to knock Carolina out of the tournament that year with a final shot, other than I guess if Kentucky had tipped in a three somehow.
