Down 9 with one Q to go. When it was six UConn tried a low percentage back door play that failed. That was a HUGE moment in the game. They had a chance to cut it to 4 or even 3 and just like that it’s back up to 9.

So what's with the coach of a maroon-and-white team wearing a green letterman's jacket to coach the game? Or any letterman's jacket for that matter.

I don't know if there's a story behind it, but it appears to be some sort of flex. On Twitter I'm seeing it is a $4,850 jacket.

Great game by SC, Dawn Staley is definitely the next Pat Summit/Geno to be a 1 seed consistently for the next umpteenth years.

Williams and Nelson-Ododa - the senior leaders - were complete no-shows tonight. It’s one thing to have a bad game but to be a total no-show is unacceptable.

Holly Rowe just called Aliyah Boston Aliyah Edwards and Boston at first wants to take down Holly but then later this most outstanding player is like a star struck little girl wanting to meet Candace Parker.

this is so much more entertaining than the Mens trophy presentation

Maybe you didn't hear. Olivia pulled that groin again in the Stanford game that she had trouble with earlier this year. Try getting rebounds with a pulled groin. She was a gamer just to be on the court. Sad about Christyn having a bad game. Would have liked to have seen how it would have gone if they had Dorka, and Azzi wasn't sick since last night. It may not have mattered but I'll bet at the very least it would have been a closer game.

No I didn’t realize that about Olivia. Well she’s outclassed by Boston anyway and yes Dorka’s injury was huge. Williams didn’t just have a “bad” game. She was completely invisible as was Fudd. I give Fudd a little break because she was sick and is just a freshman but still. UConn had NO shot at winning if three of their five best players - for whatever reason - were going to give them absolutely NOTHING. It was Bueckers (so-so) and Ducharme (played fairly well but of course fouled out) and that’s IT. Can’t beat SC with that.

The Uconn bigs simply couldn't compete with the SC front line. Their (SC) dominance on the glass was unreal, and required Uconn to really be efficient on offense if they wanted to stay with them. Other than Bueckers (who had a very good game, although not other worldly) and Ducharme (who was pretty good for a freshman, but nothing special), no one showed up on offense for Uconn. There are reasons for that (groin injuries, sickness, ineptitude), but at the end of the day, SC outgunned Uconn thoroughly. The much better team won. Congrats to SC

Yeah they beat UConn twice this year, both by significant margins. There's no way to argue that SC isn't a better team. Bummer because I love the UConn's women, but it is what it is.

No they probably wouldn't have won regardless but I thought you might want to revisit that "Not showing up" viewpoint in regard to Liv. Well done by SC. They were the class of WCBB this year.

Unfortunately she has a long history of not showing up in big games. So it was a logical inference to make. But I’ll cut her some slack in this case.
