it doesnt matter if he was actually down or not -- why blow the whistle so that you can't review it? The logic of it sucks

Here
I'd think the flea flicker would freeze the safeties from reading the screen right away and give more room to run before contact.
Wouldn’t faking a run move the safeties closer?

It’s a strange concept but it worked. Gets them misdirected, I suppose. Run left screen right.

It looked to me like Saquon hurt his forearm at the end of that long reception.

edit: nvm, he's back on the field

California. Duh.
That’s what I said…

A run moves the safeties in. Seems you’d want them moving back or backs turned on a screen. It maybe got them going the wrong direction, though.
With the field conditions, making the safety stop and change directions 2 or 3 times in quick succession would probably leave them in bad position. Don't remember them running that any time this season so maybe it was designed for this weather.

Weird drive by Philly there. It felt like they were super scared of giving any time to the Rams, and the resulting lack of urgency really stalled any momentum they had.

I slightly prefer taking the TO immediately, go to pick up a chunk on third, and run the FG team out there. They definitely had enough time.
Yeah, I'm with you. The argument against it is that maybe you get tackled in bounds and the clock runs out, but you also have a decent chance of getting out of bounds and setting up a FG... better odds than a hail mary from the 50 at least.

Yeah that would've been my call too. Only needed ten yards for a realistic shot, and a quick throw to the sidelines would likely be available with LA protecting deep. Oh well.

If they’re tackled in bounds short of the first down with 11-12 seconds that’s enough time to get a kick off. And since they’d presumably be targeting a quick hitter in the middle of the field in a 5-15 yard window - which LAR wouldn’t be protecting like the sidelines or deep routes - I think it’s pretty doable.

It does require executing several things well in succession.
