Re the leak I'm hoping its bc they like Lance. Although no idea is the SF smoke there is realI'm going with spoilers this year, so I'll be here.
What/how is everyone watching? I have an affection for The Draft Network, but I'm not sure where they're broadcasting. Absent that, I'll probably go with Bleacher Report. Any other suggestions?
I think of the draft as a quiz: can I pick the players that the Pats would like?
Why did the Pats leak that they liked Fields? I don't get why they wouldn't like him...
If that's the consensus, Detroit is going to realize quite a haul for #7 from someone, probably the Bears. This will be my home this evening. The more spoiled I am the better.
Current consensus top 6 that lots of people feel strongly about is Lawrence/Wilson/Jones/Pitts/Chase/Waddle.
Lfg.
I'm sure there are those that prefer picks in real time. Two threads cover everybody and allow people to camp in their own spot.I dont get no spoilers threads when we've spent literally months trying to get advance word of who will be drafting who.
I likely will be camped here
Of course, there are also the undecideds who will gravitate to the more active thread.I'm sure there are those that prefer picks in real time. Two threads cover everybody and allow people to camp in their own spot.
100% get it and appreciate both options.I'm sure there are those that prefer picks in real time. Two threads cover everybody and allow people to camp in their own spot.
I don't like to be spoiled, either.I appreciate both threads. I'm a non-spoiler guy and will probably be by my lonesome in the other thread.
I'll be there as well. Mind you, my contribution will be limited to sarcastic attempts at humor that will often fall flat and will contain no insightful commentary or analysis whatsoever, but hey, game thread.I appreciate both threads. I'm a non-spoiler guy and will probably be by my lonesome in the other thread.
Promise it won't be me. Seriously though, i think in 2021 the default is spoiler-friendly, so if a thread isnt labeled I would give someone a pass. But in this case, to specifically spoil in a thread that says NO SPOILERS is a dick moveI don't like to be spoiled, either.
But correct me if I'm wrong in thinking that there's always a joker or two who has a need to "break news" and over vociferous objections of other posters, repeatedly spoils picks in the "no spoiler" thread, anyway.
I will be watching the livestream of Patriots Unfiltered (Patriots.com) because, more than any media source in the area, they are smart, objective and actually critical, and also pretty funny. After the first 40 minutes - they kick off at 7:50 pm, I believe - I will keep listening but likely have NFLN on in the background.I'm going with spoilers this year, so I'll be here.

I just feel too invested in finding out the answer before the draft to stop now...spoil away
Yup.I don't like to be spoiled, either.

I entertained such a theory for a bit, but I don't see what's in it for SF, other than "the good of the league/broadcast partners" which I don't think holds much water for coaches or even GMs. My theory was just that the Niners would take Pitts at 3 because he is the best player. Talk about a two-headed TE monster with him and Kittles!!If that's the consensus, Detroit is going to realize quite a haul for #7 from someone, probably the Bears.
I have a crazy theory about SF. Every draft the NFL and their broadcast partners want to increase uncertainty. I wonder if, after the draft, NFL headquarters asked Shanahan/Lynch to set out a smokescreen for the good of the league. It doesn't harm them (or anyone) and might help ratings.
Agreed. But there is still a decent amount of uncertainty seemingly at 3-6:This will be my home this evening. The more spoiled I am the better.

Why are the Patriots giving up the two best assets in that trade?if the Pats pick a round 1 QB, it wouldn't surprise me if they also go after Jimmy G (3rd rounder plus Cam?)
I'm with Kiper. Lance at 7 is my prediction (which is driven by hope)McShay's final mock:
SF takes Trey Lance.
Den gets Fields at 9.
NE gets Jones at 15.
Kiper's final mock:
Pats trade up to 7 and take Lance (cost is 2022 1st).
Den gets Fields at 9.
I agree with all the caution on Jimmy. That said, if he made 1/2 of his current salary I think I'd be much more willing to look past the negatives. Why are the Patriots giving up the two best assets in that trade?
If the Patriots trade for Jimmy G it should be a 7th... maybe a 6th if they're feeling frisky. He's a not particularly good player on a salary 3 times what he'd get if he were on the market.
I woudl amend that to read "if the Pats pick a round 1 QB, it wouldn't surprise me if they also go after Jimmy G after he gets cut."if the Pats pick a round 1 QB, it wouldn't surprise me if they also go after Jimmy G (3rd rounder plus Cam?)
This one will be predicated on what I would do if I were the GM of the teams picking in the top 15 of the NFL Draft based on how I ranked prospects and how I think they’ll hypothetically fit into their respective systems.
Yeah, that's based on strong rumblings. Always possible someone is smoke-screening or someone will step up with a godfather offer.Agreed. But there is still a decent amount of uncertainty seemingly at 3-6:
- Does SF really take Jones??
- Does ATL trade out?
- Does Cin make Burrows happy, reuniting him with Chase, or keep him safe by taking Sewell?
- MIA is almost certain to go pass-catcher, but is that Pitts (if still on the board), Chase or Waddle?
:|I've been all juiced up to trade up and get a QB, and now...not so much. As of now, I'm going with a trade back.
Just a kid compared to Brady.Aaron Rodgers turns 38 this year.
So time for a good 3-5 SB appearances if you have a good roster and coachAaron Rodgers turns 38 this year.
When has Lombardi been right on anything?Booooooooo

Evan Silva:
Lombardi on Justin Fields to #Patriots rumors: “These things are out of control. It’s one of the great, great smokescreens I’ve ever seen of all time. ... There’s no fact to it.”
The 49ers asked about Brady .... this rumor isn't out of the realmAaron Rodgers turns 38 this year. (Can't see SF making that offer.)
Maybe, but he could also fall off a cliff. Can't see it.So time for a good 3-5 SB appearances if you have a good roster and coach
Who is Bill Michaels? Not sure the validity of this, but wow.
