Niners with Rodgers would be a championship contender; Rodgers and Shanahan together would be pretty deadly. I think this might just be draft day leverage for Rodgers, clearly the Love move bothered him a lot (as it should have). I kind of think Rodgers is a bit of a crybaby who has gotten an unbelievable pass by the media over the years for continuing to come up short in the playoffs, but if I'm San Fran it is a no-brainer.
I've felt like he's a bit overrated for a long time, so there was definitely a point I was with you. However the way he parlayed the chip on his shoulder into the season he had last year turned me around. MVP with one good weapon and a running back. He's an assassin.

This does feel like ARod making a deal during the World Series for the eyeballs.
I think the NFL has been encouraging this type of stuff to try and get some of the same social media traction that the NBA gets.

Right? Deal him for a bunch of stuff, including a high first rounder with which they draft their next QB at a much lower cost, and away they go. Or maybe they do believe in Love and feel like they already have the next QB.

Feels kinda like the NBA. I'm not well versed in the NBA but it seems like the NBA rumor mill is constantly stoked by star players wanting to join a different team. Seems like the NFL/Players have tried to copy taht model.

Is that what the Saints are trying to get a top 10 pick for? Trading to Packers for Rodgers? That'd be fun...

Throw Jameis in, let him compete with Jordan Love or start until Love is ready... throw in a few other picks & players since Saints are going to have to maneuver the crap out of the cap to get Rodgers in...yikes their books are already an impossible disaster, nvm.

It'd be tough for NFL players to copy that model because individual star players matter so much more in the NBA than the NFL. A star QB is the only thing anywhere close to a star player in the NBA. NFL players don't have anywhere near the leverage of NBA players when it comes to demanding trades.

NFC West is already going to be a ton of fun, but imagine if it's Rodgers-Wilson-Stafford-Murray?! It'd be the most competitive division in league history.
The NFC East during that stretch when they went Giants-WFT-Cowboys SB wins and the Eagles were really good too was a great division....but the Cardinals being in there kind of soiled that punch bowl a little bit.

We came close to seeing if Watson could leverage a trade out of Houston like his counterpart NBA James Harden did. But then came the lawsuits...

Elite QB's are comparable to NBA stars. No other position is even close though imo. Look at the Trent Williams situation just a couple years ago. WFT just let him sit for a year. That would never happen in the NBA.

Mike Reiss on ESPN says the Pats have spent a lot of time scouting the second tier of QBs in case the opportunities for the top tier dry up. ESPN also says Falcons are asking a ton for their #4 pick and likely will use the pick because their price is too high.

Good, if no one is trading up to 4 it means the Pats can pay less to get to 7/8

I had the same thought. Pitts goes 4, Chase goes 5, Mia doesn't take a QB and Bill makes an offer for #7. Dallas may be interested in trading back at 10 if Pitts is gone, as well.

This must run deeper than kicking that FG against Tampa?
yes, years of shit management.
He probably wanted out the minute the 2020 1st round ended and only grew from there. That might be the worst draft for a contending team ever. Not just bad picks, but bad picks that don't fill any of the holes in what should be a contender

I think it's all bullshit. I think Niners have known what they would do as soon as they decided to do a trade for number 3. And I think York knows entirely.

Oh, I think he knows too. But, and I'm not sure it's come across nationally, the nines fanbase is vitriolic over Jones. To the point that Lynch and Shanahan had a weird and defensive press conference on Monday just with the Jones rumors.

I just think it's very strange that York is pulling this troll job and then they pick Jones. It's gonna being the worst media coverage they've had since Tomsula.

I'm not saying that should guide your pick, but why are you out there tweeting like this then?

I think they’re gonna take Jones and that presser plus York’s tweet show are manifestations of anxiety/defensiveness over the public’s reaction.
