GB picked Stokes @ #29.

Any worthy late round WR flyers you would recommend?
I really appreciate all of the work you and SMU share with the board. You guys are aces.
TJ Vasher is a guy I like late. He's huge and faster than he looks, though he doesn't accelerate well. Big catch radius and could be a terror in the red zone. Highlight reels are usually a bad way to judge a player, but his are representative. He played with some truly terrible QBs too.

OK now there is a name we can agree on. Sorry... I really do not enjoy shitting on guys. Cisco just happened to be one of my pet peeve types.

Trill Williams is interesting because I can see him being able to play 3 roles: outside corner, slot corner, and free safety. Not sure what his best fit is but he is 109th on my board and I have a 3 fit on him so I think he actually makes some sense for them day 3 or even perhaps with pick 96.
Trill is getting a lot less hype than the other 2 Syracuse DBs, but honestly, he may have the most room for growth.

Seems the Eagles (& Cowboys) thought the Giants were going to take Smith.
They may have thought that but (a) they were probably wrong as it seems unlikely that the Giants would have turned down the Bears deal just because Smith was on the board and (b) even had that occurred, there is very little reason to believe that there was a big difference in talent/value between Smith and a bunch of other players the Eagles could have taken instead at 12.

I'm deeply dubious about guys who skip all the athletic testing except the vert. Tells me he knew his times were going to be abysmal.

If I'm looking for a late round lotto ticket big WR, I'd rather take an athletic freak like Jacob Harris

Dallas likely.. their cap situation next year is not great, I don;t think they want to pay JCJ, be better off taking one of the draft corners in the 2nd or 3rd.
That's fair, but it also presumes that there is a CB they think is worthy of drafting at 44. Sounds like SMU wouldn't pick a CB at 46 for the Pats.

They also have 75, 84 and 99 so they're positioned for all of those guys who'll go in that range, which is a good chunk of the list SMU has. Adebo, Campbell, Molden, etc. I'd also note, they just brought in Dan Quinn, so I would guess that they run a scheme a lot like SEA and less like us, if you look at SMU's great Cb post he notes some guys who are bad fits for us (Adebo and Campbell included) that are better fits for a SEA type scheme.

Yep, good points. I just thought they might be looking for more of a proven guy since they were rumored to want Surtain or Horn and didn't get either.

Yeah, I bet they would, but I just don't see them going for JCJ given acquisition cost and new contract. I bet they're kicking the tires on Sherman as their possible vet addition.

Interesting stat on ESPN--last year there were more games played by rookies drafted in the 3rd round than the 1st or 2nd round.

NFLN is actually good so far tonight. Just talking ball, not too much bullshit, has a TNT vibe instead of the ESPN presidential primary debate vibe.

There are also more rookies drafted in the third round, so not actually all that surprising.

I love Louis Riddick. If my company hired him to fire me, I'd be like "Yes sir, that's gotta be the right call."

I'm a big fan of this draft causing me to think of the Presidents of the United States of America's Cleveland Rocks for the first time since the Drew Carey Show went off the air.

So for a NFL draft event in Cleveland, they got a Bengal, a Steeler and a Bill? Awesome

I thought Schager was a blogger or something based on how he acts so sidekick-ish on Bill Simmons pod. Didn’t know he was getting face time during the draft on NFLN.

I know he has his detractors but I think Urban Meyer is a smart son of a gun so I am very interested in seeing what he does in Jville.
