They appear to be using 3 year averages of their grades and WAR? Which seems silly given it doesn't take into account guys who destroy their bodies and are a shell of themselves

He's done as a bell cow but I think he can potentially help someone in a reduced role. He averaged 4.4 YPC on 3rd down and less than 3 yards. He averaged 4.2 YPC in Q1, 4.2 in Q2, 4.0 in Q3, and a paltry 2.3 in Q4. This leads me to believe that he wore down. The eyeball test confirms that he's lost a lot of explosion. He barely caught any passes, which used to be a decent part of his game, so he's clearly going to be a limited player for someone.

My gut says he's another guy in the Bourne/Parker tier and ultimately wouldn't have been make or break for this offense, but I definitely think he's worth that if he can stay healthy. Good move for the NYG.

I think the primary issue was injuries. He hurt his back last year and it dogged him all season.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if he goes to another team if he has a monster year. Clearly he has all-pro talent.
Mike Brown sure as hell ain’t caving to emotion, I’ll say that much. I think they’ll do it if they can get a Day 2 pick though and feel good enough about their other options.
Williams is a legit starting tackle in the same way Riley Reiff is... they have started at Tackle. I'd much rather be paying Reiff what he got than Williams unless I think his age means a breakout could happen, they aren't very different players in terms of overall quality for the coming year.
Considering he lead the leagues in sacks allowed last season, I think he ends up stuck as depth purgatory for the Bengals.
I'm sure there are teams that would still take a flier on him for a 4th or 5th round pick. But considering the depth he provides for the team - and that the Bengals are stuck with a $12M cap hit whether he stays with the team or is traded - I think he ends up being more valuable to the Bengals than whatever they get in a trade.
I don't think he gets traded either but I don't believe this is true. Williams cap hit is all salary which follows to the new team. Williams would count $0 on Bengals cap if traded.
The Bengals pay nothing if they trade him, it's the 5th year option so it's all salary.
The sacks allowed are a tough number, but he’s better than that - a lot of them came in the first half of the year against Watt and Garrett. He’s always been limited athletically but he’s a good technician and an overall average LT that’s going to get paid. What that’s worth on a 1/12.6 deal, I don’t know.

With Cooks it was a really steep contract. I really don’t get what Houston is doing. You want a QB and you’re going to give him basically nothing to work with. Maybe you can get Hopkins for a 3rd in this market but I don’t see why Arizona would do that unless they think they are in rebuild mode.
I think the odds that Dallas didn't ask around on Hopkins before making this trade are below zero point zero. I don't think you can get him for a third otherwise there's a very high chance he'd be a Cowboy right now.
You are probably right. I do wonder though what Hopkins market is and what that price tag is as well. I still think it’s probably a 2nd and I don’t think I want them to pay it. There’s too many good draft fits imo.
