Packers WRs other than Davante Adams: 2 targets, 1 reception, 0 yards.

On a night when the 9ers were doubling Adams practically every play, Rodgers couldn't find anyone else.

NFLN: Rodgers 0-4 vs 49ers in playoffs, first QB to lose four times against same team in playoffs in NFL history

What a really bizarre game. I think playing with the lead really affected how the Packers played much of the game. A touch down lead felt safe. The punt block was actually a bit lucky in that I think the kick easily could have missed his arm. And if the Niners fall on it instead of scooping I am not sure they score from the 7.

Just such an improbable win but a clear demonstration that in this league at this time unless the other team is out of time outs and you can kneel on it, one score is not enough.

The Rams are such a complete team. Stafford is the wild card. We'll see if Peyton's prediction that everything would change for him after getting that win last week comes true.
It feels like the Rams are healthy and hot at the right time while the Bucs are banged up. Unless the Rams turn it over 3 times, I think they are going to roll.

The Bucs aren’t losing to the Rams or the stupid Niners, looking at back to back Super Bowl appearances for Tommy.

Rams are a terrible matchup for thee current version of TB. I feel nostalgia rooting for Tom tomorrow - the table is set for them if they get past this week, but they have injury/matchup problems that probably prohibit them from getting past this week.

I had no idea that Rodgers had referred to the Biden White House as "fake" the other day. I'm even happier he lost now. But mostly I'm happy because he's a preening douche.

The one incompletion on the last drive to Cobb? And the one completion to Lazard? His TEs were even worse...One completion to Lewis that he immediately fumbled, the other two TEs had 3 targets with 0 completions.

The last two 'drives' by Rodgers were the absolutely worst drives possible in that position.. three and out with -9 yards using 1:29 which led directly to the blocked kick, the second was another three and out with -6 yards using 1:21... four passes (3 to Adams, 1 to Cobb) and two penalties. Jones had been running fairly at will or catching passes out of the backfield and was used once in the last eight plays... with all the incompletions they also used almost no clock leaving plenty of time for San Francisco to score.

Deebo Samuel is such a weapon. That last drive where he got the big run on third down was impressive. He had a big catch too.

Perhaps ... but N'Keal Harry can seal the edge on three-yard running plays like nobody's business
Between Deebo and AJ Brown, it wasn't a good day for thinking about what could have beens with the Harry pick.

I thought you post was that Rodgers was 12-10 in the NFC playoffs and the next guy said Brady would pass him tomorrow ... which was absurd, since Brady has only played in 3 NFC playoff games ... since Super Bowls are not NFC playoff games

My bad, I guess
No, it was in response to the claim that Rodgers loses “all the time” in the playoffs.

Well, he is 12-10 all time in the playoffs. He wins more than he loses in the postseason.
I mean, Peyton was also 14-13 all time in the playoffs. He won a lot of playoff games. But he also went 1 and done 9 times. In his non-title seasons, he went 7-13. In his non-SB seasons, he went 3-11. But when we think back on Peyton's career, I think we talk about him as an all time great in the regular season who wasn't so great in the playoffs, and I think the narrative will be the same with Rodgers.

He's 11-10 as a 4 time MVP QB. 7-10 In the last decade. If that's not "losing all the time", I don't know what is.
The point is he still has a winning record in the playoffs. As we know, winning in the playoffs is really hard, and he has won more than he's lost. I mean, unless you win the SB, you're going to have a loss in the playoffs that year (if you get into the playoffs, obviously). So it's REALLY easy to pile up playoff losses.

I'm not trying to argue that he's this great playoff performer or anything. But he's won more than he's lost in the playoffs.

PS - Did Rodgers win the MVP this year? If so, I missed that. He might, but as of now he "only" has 3 MVPs, I think.

I don't disagree. Marino was 8-10 in the playoffs. Tarkenton was 6-5. Moon was 3-7. Lots of all-time great QBs don't exactly have sterling playoff records.

Rodgers and Peyton went to the playoffs more times with byes or top seeds than those other guys. When you are hosting a playoff game in the divisional round you are supposed to win those games more than you lose them.

Anyway, blocked FG, blocked punt, kickoff return to mid field and 10 guys on the field for a game winning FG attempt. That’s the worst special teams performance I can recall in the playoffs. But it wouldnt have mattered if Rodgers had done his own research on the 49er defense and scored more than one TD.

Rodgers with a bye (5x): 3 wins, 5 losses. Horrid.
Peyton with a bye (8x): 7 wins, 7 losses, 1 title. His last couple years in Denver saved these numbers (5-3 total in Denver, 5-2 the last three years combined)
Brady with a bye (13x): 25 wins, 7 losses, 6 titles.

If Buffalo wins today we will have 3 of the 4 teams that played in the 1988 conference championship games minus Chicago and we will have a Bills-Bengals rematch this time in Orchard Park.

Indy seems like the perfect fit for this guy, right? Can Titans make it work financially?

Living in northeast Wisconsin may seem to have it's advantages. The summers are great. The cost of living is low. It's socially permissible to be an alcoholic (seriously though, I know about a dozen people that have four plus DUIs) as well as eat cheese and bratwurst in five pound increments.

I will say though, that the Packer fanbase is by far the most goobery in the NFL. It usually gets a pass because of the homespun folksy-ness and Midwestern idioms like "a couple, two, tree (that's supposed to an attempt at saying three), yeah?" (Translated to "I want two of those") or ending any question posed with the dreaded "err, no?".

But living amongst Packer fans is insufferable. I've just been here too long I think, but it's tough stomach. Add in Rodgers being a cockstain, I want the 9ers to win on a last second field goal setup by Aaron throwing a pick to Adams who broke off his route too early.
Everything but the Rodgers' pick. Nice.

He didn’t even need to score more than one TD. A couple first downs in the 4th quarter would have been plenty. Instead he went backwards twice.

This used to be considered pretty good. Brady’s string of statistically implausible success has broken peoples brains.

There’s going to be way more than five teams that would want Rodgers, but it obviously only matters where Rodgers wants to go. As I mentioned upthread, that place will be Nashville.

Sure but these 5 teams are more than a contender than the likes of Carolina and probably Cleveland which is a notorious loser. Tennessee is the best roster by far with Henry, Brown and the aging Julio Jones.

Tennessee seems pretty boned because of Tannehill's contract. Over the Cap has his cap number jumping from $11.1 mil to $38.6 mil, all of it fully guaranteed. Even if they cut him post-June 1, that's all dead money. I think they're married to Tannehill for at least another year.

TEN doesn't have much cap space ($10.7mm) and would take a major cap hit to move on from Tannehill. Plus, they need to re-sign Landry and extend Simmons and AJ Brown

MIA, DEN and IND have more than enough cap space to take in Rodgers. PITT, LV and CLE can likely do so, with an extended contract.

Does anyone have the cap space to do both Rodgers and sign Adams to come with him?
